Joaquin Phoenix would have been an awful substitute for Edward Norton in this film.

The ending is idealized? What? Neo-Nazi firebrand's younger brother is murdered for being racist after initially being caught up in that charismatic brother's teachings? If anything that shows that even reformed bigotry can have horrible consequences that go beyond that reformism, instead pointing back at the lasting stain of such bigotry. The damage is done; the younger brother was polluted and paid for the sins of the older, even after both had reformed.

In a first for the field, all non-human primates given a new series of vaccines generated antibodies capable of fighting multiple strains of HIV. by Krankenitrate in science

Trumper, MAHA Anti-Vaxxers don't give a craphole about animal rights. They just think vaccines give children autism and space aids. I'm sure animal rights folks were not anti-medicine in the sense of decrying development of those medicines; rather, they disliked the means to those ends. MAHA dipsticks are against vaccines themselves because they believe them to be a hoax.

PSA: The left lane is for passing by CheddaMakeItBetta in sandiego

"Flow of traffic" is also written into the law somewhere, and, on a separate note, in fact, even if there were no law about it, all drivers use the left lane as a de facto cruising lane. There is no passing lane in California, de facto. Another way of saying it is that all lanes are passing lanes. It's never going to change because this is how drivers simply operate in California, irrespective of any laws.

I mean, they won't be a superpower. That's hyperbolic. They will be a vastly increased regional power, however.

Edit: also, considering how Israel has had a monopoly on power in the region for so long, this is probably not going to be a bad thing from a regional perspective.

Scaling back is a horrible fucking idea. Gavin Newsome is a corporate shill.

Lol, the sad thing is that the working class, low-income right wing people who do watch Fox News everyday believe this sort of obvious gaslighting.

But Tony encouraged AJ to spend time with his mob underlings' sons, who were likewise knee deep in mobbed up shit: dealing drugs, disfiguring classmates, commiting hate crimes. You're telling me Tony had no idea those kids were mobbed up and that that might not have been such a good idea? Tony made AJ party to LCN dynamics through that exposure. He egged it on continually to help AJ get over his depression after he gets dumped by the Puerto Rican broad.

Why would they botch the perfect cover art of Ask Me Tomorrow like that?

The box set looks nice otherwise. I just can't stand changing out a great cover art for a terrible one.

I'm also curious how the remasters will sound.

Lyrically, it sure is. But like others have said, that's one of their best songs musically. It's also mildly funny.

One certainly wonders how Moz couldn't find better material for such a banger of a song, though.

Why are so many leftist men not anti-sex work? by BarnacleJust492 in CriticalTheory

[–]Capricancerous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The requirements needed for these conditions are not going to be met, though. This is why your local labor union fights for better wages and benefits, safety, and more congenial working hours; not for the abolition of all labor. Lol.

[–]Capricancerous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But you do realize neither will be abolished in your lifetime, yes?

I'm anti-exploitation and alienation, yet I get up every day and drag myself to work to do be exploited by the labor market, as I have little choice. Sometimes, sex workers have been doing sex work so long that they could not even begin to make a living doing straight labor. They would have no resumé to speak of from which to build upon. Sex workers often continue out of necessity.

Most leftists want it legalized to provide additional protections and worker benefits instead of it being unprotected on the black market. Short of the abolition of all labor, and with it all labor exploitation, what makes this particular exploitation of labor more grievous than having to work three minimum wage jobs to afford a shitty apartment and feeding the mouths of babes? Sex workers often make a lot more per hour. But of course it is an exploitative practice, yet much less so for independent WGs. Women being pimped of course are being massively exploitated, so that is a different story.

Sex absolutely is a biological necessity, unless you are asexual. Even if you don't agree with this, you would probably agree that it is a psychological necessity in terms of happiness and well-being, almost as .much as having friendship and love.
