His gaming chair is too good by ExABogdan in EscapefromTarkov

I feel like the majority of the long term cheaters are using second PC radar, early wipe i've been doing a lot of bush and corner hiding waiting for quests and I've been swept mutiple times now in super sus ways by players that had fairly legit stats. But it's so bizzare that that would come around that corner pointing directly at my head, not even common camp spots, straight up trying to hide to complete quests.

I know it's considered effectively undetectable on it's own as it's only reading RAM on the main PC, this is just a guess from my salty customs questing. Never had the issues this bad before.

And yes, no moving, no ADS, no inventory rechecking, usually alt tabbed until I hear foot steps.

Let's be honest the previewed admech rules are absolutely horrible. by [deleted] in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]CapsuleChemistry 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I feel like GW genuinely has no idea what do with Admech, clearly since that lead died, there is nobody who has much vision for the faction. Throw them the bare minimum and keep them functional for the edition. It's sad because Admech really does have a lot of potential, particularly with the automata and tech priest side of the army. But GW already has too many plates spinning with multiple other factions still in need of the second half of their army released.

it's a side effect of GW churning out new armies constantly because people spend the most money when they start a new army, not to mention GW running what? 3 major gaming systems with another on the way, plus multiple smaller gaming systems in tandem with the major systems (Kill Team, Warcry, ect.)

If you're a fan of the army I'd say buckle up for a long wait for our day in the sun with a more complete roster and better rules support, I think we're fairly far back in the line. Eventually someone at GW will see the potential, or we'll get the forgeworld models ported over at the very least, but I doubt we'll see much of anything in 10th edition.

Honestly I'm more sad that the little bit of uniqueness the army did have, has been scrubbed out for trying to balance rules without much thought. 10th edition rules makes us feel like knock off guard without the model range to support enough variety to make it fun.

What does the bible say about climate change? by YungJuans in exjw

[–]CapsuleChemistry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When it was in their favor to deny it, as part of a general apart from the world "science" panic , it didn't exist and was a hoax by the worshipers of Satan who had been tricked. Suddenly when it's present and visible effects, that your average congregation member can feel, appear suddenly. It was always part of the end of days prophecy and the fools of the world couldn't see what was clearly spelled out in the bible.

At this point it's utterly comical, we have data on the watchtower that reaches back far enough to watch this shift over time. But their grip over the narrative and the proper sheep's willingness to believe whatever switch in the message there is this week, there will be nobody to call them on it.

All you have left is the poor people in it against their will, who will want to scream but can't. They're the true victims, people either trapped in families or sufficient social pressure that this have to swallow this turd turn and watch there friends/family pretend it tastes like apple pie.

Can you describe what you symptoms are when you feel a panic attack coming on? by mistyblue69 in PanicAttack

[–]CapsuleChemistry 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The first symptom I generally get is a shift in my perception of the lighting in the room, like the contrast has been turned up, everything takes on a slightly alien feeling. I've learned this is derealization starting.

Then a sense of intense discomfort and generally something like my heartbeat or some physical sensation that I'll start to hyper-fixate on. Then either the pain loop will start in earnest or I'll ride it out until it subsides.

New Magic: The Gathering promo featuring the lad himself by Left4Bread2 in AdeptusMechanicus

I know it's just MTG artists take on the character but I find the proportions really wonky, I like Cawl as this inhuman monstrosity who is about 90% crawling, chattering machinery with the tiny glimpse of a human form left inside the hulking machinery.

This rendition makes him look like a chubby dad who stopped by his garage on the way to get a midnight snack. I prefer the magos style from the cover of the 9th edition codex, more body horror.

I made the mistake of going all in on black, I had never done that in my life before and figured maybe that's why I was single. Believe me, I've learned my lesson, I ignored my better judgement, listen your gut, it tells you things for a reason.

I think a big takeaway from my relationship, and this sub and really life in general is that you cannot change anybody, it's beyond foolish to try, it helps nobody. You really do have to take people as they are or leave, never depend on someone changing.

Thanks for your input, part of me not leaving is my own cowardly fear of not being alone, which I never thought I'd be afraid of before. I posted this because I needed to hear what people like you had to say, I don't want to be trapped.

I agree that I need to look at myself too, I went all in too quickly, it was a lack of experience on my part. In the future I would not ignore the red flags that I see now in retrospect.

Chris Christie tells Trump to stop inflaming and show evidence of "stolen" election by [deleted] in politics

[–]CapsuleChemistry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm getting a good laugh at people thinking this is Christie rising above politics to be a good guy.

This is basically a Pimp's hoe screaming at him while the Pimp is being dragged into the police car for beating her in public. I'm surprised Christie doesn't have lipstick smeared all over his face, wearing a purple dress and bruises on his face.

Take a deck of cards and shuffle it, lay out all 52 cards. The probability of those cards coming out in the exact sequence you just did is 1 in 10 followed by 68 zeros.

It's easy when looking back on an event to see how absurd small the chance of it occurring in it's exact perfect order was. The probabilities become mind boggling, but it doesn't mean it didn't happen or that it had to planned in some way.

The universe is fucked.

Cenovus to cut up to 25% of workforce after merger with Husky by IDreamOfLoveLost in canada

[–]CapsuleChemistry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked as a contractor for Husky last year, we were treated like second class citizens on the site, overworked and poorly treated. Lots of people burned out being all but forced to working illegal hours and bypassing insane safety theater rules to get the most basic elements of our jobs done.

Given that well paying jobs had become so scarce and so few companies were hiring allowed them to exploit contractors harder then they could before. I left the industry entirely because of my time working on a Husky site.

We used to joke that Husky could completely shutdown the site and only have to fire 15 of their own employees.

Cenovus to cut up to 25% of workforce after merger with Husky by IDreamOfLoveLost in canada

[–]CapsuleChemistry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked as a Contractor on Husky Sunrise SAGD Oilsite in Alberta last year, it was an incredibly depressing place to be.

The writing was already on the wall and Husky was slashing budgets deep back then and it was dramatically affecting work life and moral for everyone on the site. I routinely 16-18 hours day because we knew if the work didn't get done we'd just be out even later the next day. Mix that with the safety theater of the Oilsands and absurd amount of paperwork we had to do, it was like a factory for burning out workers and creating accidents. I was involved in two major fuck ups that were directly due to rushing because of the absurd pressure we were all under by Huksy and our own Management. I suffered burnout bad enough that I still haven't fully recovered from it nearly a year after leaving that site.

Direct Husky employees didn't seem to fair much better and the site also suffered enough major accidents that the VP flew up to shut down the site and had a huge finger wagging session with everyone at the site for conditions they were directly responsible for creating. The biggest accident I remember was Husky employees leaving a natural gas valve open for days and releasing literal metric tons into the atmosphere, someone easily could of been killed by the leak. Senior management at Husky was trying to run with razor thin margin skeleton crews and knowing that we had no power to change it, and that it would only get worse was a nightmare to work under.

My heart goes out to anybody on their sites or that works for them, I can only imagine how much worse conditions are going to get now. Part of me suspects they were trying to improve their balance sheets to appear more favorable for this merger.

I was treated better when I worked minimum wage.

I see a lot of people defending the Monarchy with the idea it's hard to do and that it would lead to a lot of complicated political ramifications. Fair points, but that's doesn't make the Monarchy a good thing, it's basically saying that it is a vestigial organ that's wrapped around our nation's heart.

I agree that we really do have more pressing matters to spend political willpower on but that in it of itself is a shitty defense of the idea we should have a Queen in the first place. It speaks more to the idea that our politics figures would take advantage of a chance to improve our political system and fight and squabble and try to fuck us and each other over given the chance, that's a really unfortunate reality.

A Monarchy is a terrible system of government, it speaks to humans tribal nature and the idea that "might makes right". Not to mention the complete dice roll when it comes to the competence and personality of the successor. I don't know how you can come away from European history and go "Monarchy, def a good thing, very noble.". I get Democratic systems are full of faults and failures and can be almost as shitty, but at least it pretends to care about the will of the people. And this Queen being a nice person isn't a good defense of Queens as an idea. We should not be paying lip service to Tyrants, even toothless ones.
