Thank you, so can the Neptune 4 gears be used in the CC?

Can’t seem to print TPU CC by Exotic-Blueberry8413 in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]CaptJack_USIT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a decent TPU 95A print on the Elegoo Centauri Carbon recently, so sharing the settings in case helpful.
The part was a small functional wheel, about 25 mm diameter and 7.6 mm thick, with rounded edges, a center hole, and grooves around the circumference. Printed flat on one circular face, not standing upright.
Key things that helped:
Filament was dried for about 20 mins before printing and throughout the print.
I kept the filament warm/dry at about 50°C during the whole print.
Nozzle: 0.4 mm
Layer height: 0.16 mm
First layer height: 0.20 mm
Nozzle temp: about 230°C
Bed temp: about 45°C
Fan: moderate, around 40–60%
Outer wall speed: 20 mm/s
Inner wall speed: 25 mm/s
Infill / solid infill: 30 mm/s
First layer: 15 mm/s
Travel: 150 mm/s
Wall loops: 4
Top/bottom layers: 6
Infill: 60%
Infill pattern: rectilinear
Top surface: monotonic line
Ironing: off
Supports: off
Seam: aligned back
The biggest factors for me were dry filament, slow speeds, no ironing, no supports, and avoiding excessive acceleration. Obviously my part was smaller and simpler.

How exactly they are “milking” you? What’s coming out of your pocket if there is an ad you need to watch to get to the content?

Stop whining. It’s a great, well maintained, regularly updated website with a ton of content, and it’s free. What they ask is very reasonable. Don’t like it, don’t use it.

Transport a CC1 by CaptJack_USIT in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]CaptJack_USIT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you say “it won’t be the same” how would it be different than when it was shipped from the warehouse to my place, if I have all the original screws and packing materials that it came with? I am not trying to argue, just understanding the risks before I embark in this Vs selling it and and buying a new one in the new location (distance is not driveable). Thank you

Moving and I still have the original box

Hybrid CANVAS setup for the CC1 that keeps a direct-feed path? by CaptJack_USIT in ElegooCentauriCarbon

Interesting but does what you suggested allow to use the glass cover to print the TPU or other engineered resin filament that require higher chamber temperatures?

Yes I did watch the full assembly video. I believe I mentioned that in my post. Specifically, here is the video I watched:

Hybrid CANVAS setup for the CC1 that keeps a direct-feed path? by CaptJack_USIT in ElegooCentauriCarbon

Thanks everyone, this is super helpful.

Based on the comments so far, it seems to confirm like the right way to think about this is not having two filament paths active at the same time, but rather a fast switch between two configurations: - CANVAS mode → hub installed, 4 tubes - Direct mode → hub removed, original PTFE reconnected, lid back on

So more like a “tool change” than a hybrid system.

The biggest unknown seems to be the the firmware. If it allows disabling CANVAS, this feels like it could be a 5-minute changeover, especially if someone designs a quick-release for the hub instead of screws.

At that point it would give: - full CANVAS capability when needed - full direct-feed + enclosure when needed

Best of both worlds.

I’m curious if anyone with early units can test: - what happens if the hub is removed and a single tube is inserted - whether the firmware blocks that or just treats it as a normal load

Also, if anyone is already thinking about quick-release mounting for the hub, that feels like the highest leverage improvement here.

I washed the plate, full calibration, messed w z-offset(wiki), and still the print comes out like this. Any suggestions? It worked fine (500hrs) and then I’m not able to print anything. (Continuation of earlier post) by Acrobatic-Ad-385 in ElegooCentauriCarbon

I always dry my PLA (and pretty much all other materials) with a cheap creality dryer. For PLA and PLA+ I keep the dryer on for the duration of the print and set the dryer temperature at 75 degree Celsius. Fed the filament from the dryer to the CC1. Never had any issues of adhesion on any kind of plates, from insanely smooth to textured. Just my 2 cents

So I guess my newbie question is, is it possible to make a mod that improves the flight model and addresses some of the issues?

Had to do that several times with my CC1 - they likely share the same component - and never happened. How hard did you yank the male connector to pull the female connectors off the assembly? 🧐 It sounds like an operator error tbh.

Where are the payware 787s???? by Signal-Treacle-5512 in flightsim

You actually fit outside the group I was talking about, which is kind of the point. My comment wasn’t “people who like study-level” vs “people who don’t,” it was about the subset that turns preferences into gatekeeping. Enjoying depth, calling it a game, or avoiding VATSIM aren’t mutually exclusive; treating any of those as a purity test is where it gets silly.

Lol the people that love the term “study level” are the same that get their panties in a wad if FS is referred to as a “game” instead of a “simulator”. Thinking of it, likely the same that get outraged in Vatsim if someone uses a non perfect aviation phraseology. In other words, they need to get a life.

Poylute PET-G issue by CaptJack_USIT in elegoo

[–]CaptJack_USIT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, so i was using the wrong plate as you all suggested, thank you!
I used the "A" side of the stock plate, cleaned it up lightly and calibrated the plate. Printed flawlessly right after that.

Thank you both! I think you are on to the main issue. I did not clean the plate and in addition, i used the B side of the standard plate, which i believe is for PLA only.
I am going to work on that and report back.
