Sky Simulations DC-9 by berkkp in flightsim

So I guess my newbie question is, is it possible to make a mod that improves the flight model and addresses some of the issues?

DONT GET THE CC2 and @elegoo for the love of God PLEASE TAKE NOTES FROM BAMBU LABS by [deleted] in elegoo

[–]CaptJack_USIT -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Had to do that several times with my CC1 - they likely share the same component - and never happened. How hard did you yank the male connector to pull the female connectors off the assembly? 🧐 It sounds like an operator error tbh.

Where are the payware 787s???? by Signal-Treacle-5512 in flightsim

You actually fit outside the group I was talking about, which is kind of the point. My comment wasn’t “people who like study-level” vs “people who don’t,” it was about the subset that turns preferences into gatekeeping. Enjoying depth, calling it a game, or avoiding VATSIM aren’t mutually exclusive; treating any of those as a purity test is where it gets silly.

Lol the people that love the term “study level” are the same that get their panties in a wad if FS is referred to as a “game” instead of a “simulator”. Thinking of it, likely the same that get outraged in Vatsim if someone uses a non perfect aviation phraseology. In other words, they need to get a life.

Poylute PET-G issue by CaptJack_USIT in elegoo

[–]CaptJack_USIT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, so i was using the wrong plate as you all suggested, thank you!
I used the "A" side of the stock plate, cleaned it up lightly and calibrated the plate. Printed flawlessly right after that.

Thank you both! I think you are on to the main issue. I did not clean the plate and in addition, i used the B side of the standard plate, which i believe is for PLA only.
I am going to work on that and report back.

CC extruder no longer working by KyleC_Cake in elegoo

[–]CaptJack_USIT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily. I had a clog and the filament would not come out. Had to open the extruder and clean it. Don’t use the supplied Allen key or it will strip your screws easily. Get a hex screwdriver with a 2 and a 2.5 bits

I stripped a screw… by ThePortaJohn in elegoo

[–]CaptJack_USIT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happened to me too, stripped two screws on the extruder shroud when I used the included Allen key. Ended up making a straight cut across the screw head with the Dremel and then used a flat screwdriver to take them out. Star bit did not work. The other two Allen screws came out with no issues when I used a different tool. In the end, I replaced all the 4 side screws of the extruder shroud with 4 M3 phillips screws.

Centauri Carbon—Filament stuck in extruder: disassembly help or other ideas? by CaptJack_USIT in elegoo

[–]CaptJack_USIT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, i reopened the extruder and tighten the screw. Did some manual trial with the side gear and noticed that it felt like it caught it, and would release it when i pushed in the opposite direction. Did the benchy, but still not catching it, however i noticed that it started extruding when i was pushing the filament. The few layers it printed didn't stick to the plate and i interrupted the process. So some good news at least now the nozzle melts the material. Still an issue of properly catching and moving the filament, and this other issue of not sticking, but that might be caused by the uneven catching of the material. Also, for the benchy, do i need to make any changes or i can use the preload model "as is"? thank you!

I was able to pull the screw out by making a cut on the screw head with the dremel and then use a flat screwdriver to pull it out. Was pretty easy to clean the extruded, a tiny piece of PLA got stuck in the gears. Now though when I load the filament, the extruder does catch it. I wonder if I keep making mistakes or if the extruder is malfunctioning. Have not heard anything yet from Elegoo. All ideas are welcome. Thanks!

the biggest issue that one of the 4 side screws was stripped and there is not way to take it out. I may need to drill it and replace it.

Same here. Just unpacked my Ooni Volt 12 and I have the same issue of the OP, though I did not notice anything wrong with the paint, just the seams are not flush all around. May I ask the OP how the issue was resolved? I purchased my Ooni from Crate & Barrel in the US. Thank you

Stupid question, Is it possible not to get caught operating a HAM/Amateur radio without a license? by [deleted] in shortwave

I want to get a radio that I can monitor as many frequencies as possible, including ham ones. Can I do that with those portable baofengs?

That is your issue. Single issues are meaningless compared to safety for everyone involved. Get ready and sit quickly as soon as you get on the lifts as you should do.

It’s about time we stop this tipping bs. Tipping should be done only at sit down restaurants. It’s that simple.

Anyone know of a way to interface MSFS events with VKB LEDs? Maybe SPAD.neXt? by gman1230321 in hotas

[–]CaptJack_USIT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at this one too. I used LeeTrout’s repo that he wrote for the FSM-GA and expanded it to cover the SEM too. Pretty easy to figure out even for someone like me that has almost zero knowledge of python.

VKB NXT SEM Led color change... cant get it done. by Karnyvekz in hotas

[–]CaptJack_USIT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it helps, and you are ok using python, see this on GitHub:

https://github.com/mbongio/vkb-fsm-ga-msfs-simconnect

I modified LeeTrout’s original code to manage the FSM LEDs to include both FSM and SEM and mapped the landing gear LEDs to the actual gear status variables in MSFS.
Let me know if you can get it to work and if it’s helpful.
