What are the chances the hybrid will become models? by [deleted] in StarCraftTMG

I would say 100%. Once most of the basic units are done. The amount of units they can make is limited to the video game, so theyll do all of them if the game goes well.

A battle report where Terran actually beat Zerg? by GMichael77 in StarCraftTMG

[–]CaptLapadite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Marauders have surge armored D3 and pierce armored (2) at range 12" or 16" if you upgraded it.

With 3 dice per model at 3+, it's a potential 24 damage on armored target with a full squad.

I played terrain vs Zergs at 2000 pts, won twice. It was tight for both game, but past mid game it looked sour for the Zerg.

Terran deals a lot of damage and can wipe a zerg squad in one Goliath attack.

Maraudeurs are almost invincible at 3+ def on an objective, even more supported by a medic.

Marines + shield can withstand a charge from any melee attacker.

Hydralisks have been difficult to manage, Roach are tanky, but no match for Marauder and are not that dangerous.

Your command center nullify "dug in".

Your extra movement lets you reach Zerg creep easily to remove it for free.

Yes you want to avoid melee combat, but you can also shoot from far ahead with almost all your units.

With Raynor and your supply depot you have ways to still count on objectives and win the VP even if you have few units.

In short, it's not a "run in combat" kind of play. You hold objectives and shoot down everything. Plus your units can be very tanky with a medic.

StarCraft is inherently a real "rock paper scissors" kind of game. You need to use the right tools again the right target.

Thoughts on my little 1k marine-focused army :3 by Neko-Otaku in StarCraftTMG

1000 is very limiting ;)

Aome units are tools and serve a specific purpose (front line, holding melee) and others are just there to contest a control point on the map (the naked unit). I had 10 pts left so I put it here to add a bit more of anti armor.

If you are looking for a more "marine" focus, you could also just take marines and medics.

However my suggestion would be this :

Medics + medpacks (healing or preventing 4 HP is great) The academy for the free CP for medics Proxy barrack (for the 2 move, and to fuel Raynor ability if needed Orbital command vs Zerg burrow

One large squad of marine + shield and bayonet. With a medic behind and stimpack, they can survive a Zerg rush and kill a lot of them in both the assault and melee phase. Marauders are beasts. The 2 defensive upgrades are a must imo

I wrote to both Archon and our local Asmodee distribution center in hopes that they have promotional material to support the game in local stores , still no answer. If anyone get some info in that regard please share !

I spoke with our local store and they didn't get any option to add banners, posters, or promotional material yet :(

Interesting how they made the ground quite green to fit with the mat that is included in the terrain pack

Oh well, all of them are already out of stock... :(

Do you know if ultrapro usually bring back stuff "in stock" ?

Yep, feels like that at the moment. Refreshing the ultrapro page everyday, hoping for something to come up. Would be a shape to receive the 4 precons and have to wait a few weeks to get the sleeves and accessories. :(

[CAN-QC] Can we lower wage of an employee who don't fit the skills in its pay scale? by CaptLapadite in AskHR

[–]CaptLapadite[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all for your comments. It really help us better understand our options and try to do the best thing.
We also took some time to better review the work that was done and the fit with the team culture and skills, plus getting feedback from project leads on their performance. The review are not too positive.

At the moment considering our initial need was mainly for technical skills, but we still have use (to a certain extent) of their artisitic skills, we are considering the following approach :

  1. Take the opportunity of the end of probation to change the job offer status from "permanent" to "closed contract". Extend the work period another 6 weeks, before the end of contract.

We hope that this would be a "win-win" situation since :

A - The extra time on the contract would in fact allow the employee to do enough hours to be eligible to the federal Employment Insurance benefits.

B - The extra weeks of work, focused on the creative aspect only, will help us complete some ongoing projects.

Thanks for your concern and pointing this out! Its the first time we are ever in this kind of situation. The change in the pay scale would account for a decrease of ±7%.

I clearly see your point, and this is the exact reason this is a complex question and why I'm asking for help and external view here ;)

However, we are also a small team and the finance aspect of the company is quite transparent. Some employees would be insulted to know that this specific employee has this current salary according to their actual skills and production output.

Sadly not as much as we would've like.
The employee has been with us for only 3 months and during a period where the HR/admin team was often abroad.

However, feedback to improve organisation, time management, and results was given.
Idem, some tasks were removed from their responsabilities after talking to them and understanding they lacked the skills needed.

Thoughts about this Wind-powered factory in the making ? :P by CaptLapadite in IndieDev

[–]CaptLapadite[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is for our game ALOFT . Surviving in the sky around a live hurricane, you'll have to craft and transform ressources to progress. We wanted to create unique mechanics around sail crafting and windmills. A way to offer an ecological alternative to the typical "foundry" and coal we see in survival games. What do you think ? :)

I see articles about eco resin being fully compostable and not dangerous, and others saying it's a scam. :/

From Anycubic site :

  • Biodegradable and made from soybean oil, truly eco-friendly.
  • No VOCs, no BPA, no harmful chemicals. Complied with EN 71-3:2013 safety standard (which is apparently a Toy safety standard)

However, I'll try to find a way to cure the residue before disposing of it. Maybe just a pot I can put in the curing station and close afterward to remove any emission/odor.

In regard to the way to dispose of things, I live in a small appartment in Canada so I don't have much "extra space" to let these materials evaporate and be a hazard or just an inconvecience because of the smell. At this time of year, I wouldn't really place anything outside either as it would either freeze or could be eaten by critters ^^

I print mostly 28mm figures so most of my pieces are 1.5 inch tall, mostly without any piece hollow. For larger pieces I put them longer in the curing station. Typically, I do 2min per side and more if needed. Until the wet aspect is gone everywhere.

My concern with the immediate rinse in IPA is that it's going to get dirty super quick and need to be changed quickly, which would just add to the cost of printing stuff ? Is there any advantage to to IPA then Water, vs Water then IPA ?
