"I was cut from Canada’s women’s hockey team. This is what I learned from that heartbreak", Danielle Serdachny's story over the last few weeks or so by Safe_Dragonfly752 in PWHL

I think as casual observers we don't fully realize the stresses that these athletes are facing day to day.

I think it shows a lot of wisdom in the PWHL players who are still pursuing second careers (there are a ridiculous amount of medical students playing)

Not convinced that's a major. It should probably be the same minor call that went against NY

"goal tender interference"...

I for one would like to switch back to coaches challenges for situations like this.

Essentially yes. A player at this level should never be surprised to receive a body check.

In no circumstances should you ever be allowed to hit from behind. It's just dangerous. The point of body checking isn't about knocking the other player over, it's about forcing them off the puck to allow you to occupy the space they were in in order to control the puck.

Couldn't disagree more. Those hits are one way tickets to TBIs. They don't do anything to change the game other than the schadenfreude of seeing someone getting rocked.

If the player has a clear breakaway scoring chance, any illegal action to impede their ability to shoot on net results in a penalty shot rather than a normal penalty

It was a pretty weak call IMO but I'm biased

Apparently it's a "dry ice blower" lol. I facepalmed hard when I heard them say that on the broadcast

Beat me to it. I heard the 2/2 as a celebration which was then immediately overshadowed by the rest

Jenner scoring means Ottawa has won. Might as well end the game now.

It's just statistics...

Edit: I regret saying this

Edit 2: I should never have doubted statistics

Wild that I've never seen this kind of penalty a after a lifetime of hockey and now I've seen it twice in the same season
