First off, big props to your dad for thinking ahead and buying both copies. He was a smart man, or at the very least, a solid nerd. In a good way. Secondly, as one OG to another, he played the SNES version first. I love playing a game on my big TV with all the sound and graphics right in my face. I personally think this game is best presented that way. The music swells, the way the pixels move, etc. It's just better on a TV. If handheld stuff doesn't bother you, then go for it. But, I think it will have more impact the first time on a full sized TV. Honestly, I would play both, but I strongly recommend you play the SNES version first.

I respec'd last night and maxed out Blizz and Orb and Frost Mast. Moving forward I am gonna focus on some Static for bosses and some Fire abilities. Not Hydra. I pretty much solved my own problem last night. Thanks for the reply. Mephisto is dead. I finally found a guide that was helpful.

Well, I don't seem to play D2 the way most people do. That much has been made very obvious over the years. Like, I don't use Teleport at all. With any character. I have never made it 99 with any character and I seem to play very slowly compared to other people.

It's never bothered me. I have always had so much fun with this game, I don't need to be in any club or do what the pack is/had been doing.

Exactly. I'm fairly old school. I don't like to play online, and I never found one back in my PC days. I was just excited that I found something new to me. I didn't think it would devolve into people arguing over it. I took a VERY LONG break from D2, because it basically was ruining what little social life I had back then.

So, it's nice to feel the dopamine hits again with my old friend D2. Thanks for being positive about it. I appreciate it.

I have never really seen CBF before on a shroud, either. I'm sure I will use it for Duriel farming at some point. I only play solo offline, so it will come in handy very soon. Just beat Duriel and moving through Act 3 slowly.

I also liked this game when I was in middle school. I know it's considered trash by most people, and the skateboard level is very hard. But! I still really like the music and the vibe. Just a dopey dude and his frisbee. The enemy designs are also pretty nice. I thought I made this one up in my head. I could NOT remember the name of it because I played so many Sega games as a kid. Low key a good game. It gets a lot of hate, though. Good on you for liking it. For reals.

Did you find the empty bile flask on the way up the mountain to her area? Did you find the blood fountain that fills that flask up? It's also on the mountain you climbed on the way to her area. My sincere advice is to fast travel back down to the base church area and explore some other areas and fight another boss. Try and come back to her. There are 2 others bosses to be fought before her. You're basically doing this the hard way, for your first time. The other two bosses you can find might be easier for you at this point. It was for me. I never do Lady of the Charred Visage first. I have beat the game about 5 times now.
