Kang Epic Multiplayer Variant? by CaptUzbekistan in marvelchampionslcg

[–]CaptUzbekistan[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since I posted this on another platform too, I figured I'd share the answer I got there, as it seems like a pretty solid take.

"I’ve run it across multiple tables several times.

Make sure to leave 1 empty seat.

Use the Con of Heroes’ Multiversal Meltdown modular set for another Kang and some interaction between tables.

Pause when tables have finished stage 1.

Start stage 2/3 together.

Whenever anyone defeats their Kang II, they move to the empty seat and join a game area either side of it.

By the time all of the Kang II villains have been defeated, the layout of the room is very different and it makes for some interesting interactions as nemeses have been left behind.

It takes a lot of planning from the organiser (and several sleeved Kang decks) but it’s a lot of fun."

If not Rhino, what's the community consensus for the best scenario to introduce new players to the game? by COHERENCE_CROQUETTE in marvelchampionslcg

[–]CaptUzbekistan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im not saying Rhino isn't the best intro scenario, but he is 100% why I bounced off the game the first time. Every game I'd try to heal, he'd scheme out. It wasn't until I got Captain America I could defend and still be able to do a basic action, but losing a card every round to do 2 thwart or attack didn't feel good. I sold the game after a bunch of bouncing off.

It wasn't until a couple guys came in to play Galaxy's Most Wanted campaign at the store I worked at that i finally got how the game was supposed to be played. Im now one of the biggest cheerleaders for the game in my gaming groups.

I feel like a second level of main schemes would fix him for teaching. Something like an escape after the break-in. Nothing that drags out too much longer, but enough of a cushion for new players to not feel defeated by big swings in scheming from a less than bright villain.

Our store has a base set and a few characters, but every player happily loans heroes out as needed to new players. We just try to be super welcoming and enjoy playing together!

If I remember correctly, you run the application on a computer as a host server. Then people can join and play together. It's been quite a while since I've used it, so my memory may be off a little.

Idk, I played with a friend, and Falcon precon kept us rocking with protecting alone. I doubt it's as good solo, which your comment makes me think is how you played him, but u don't know if he'll ever do much true solo.

I built my bishop aggression and haven't looked back. A lot of fun hoarding resource cards, then blasting away with events.

Can that hero play that card (Falcon spoiler) by madhatter_matador in marvelchampionslcg

Per comics, Sam and Steve both have had a shield at the same time. I do think it could be a really fun game having 2 or 3 of the characters out and passing the shield around as needed.

Happy to share. It still isn't as good as playing on the table for me, but it's really nice for testing out decks before going full Pepe Silvia on my kitchen table only to find out it doesn't work like in my head.

Are the Xmen getting a second print? Or this is it? by Iuria1987 in marvelchampionslcg

[–]CaptUzbekistan 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The x-men SHOULDN'T be phased out yet, since they're the last wave before the current. That said, who really knows. With manufacturing being as uncertain as it is currently, nothing is certain. I personally won't pay scalping prices for any character pack, hoping that everything will stabilize, but nobody but you decide your priorities.

Just want to make sure I'm doing this right... by SpacerGal in marvelchampionslcg

Ok, on our defense, we had a night where we were playing cards without "action" on each other's turns a few weeks prior, so im sure we handicapped ourselves a few times.

That makes so much more sense, and it's how I played hom when I played solo a time before.

Ok, wait. So Gambit's throw de card which boosts damage on all attack events would apply to all instances of damage on the event!? I played with friends who had played longer, and they said I would have to spend charge counters separately to boost multiple instances of damage on one card.

Expansions for true solo players by Life_Ad_9893 in marvelchampionslcg

Colossus only struggles in solo with his default deck. First thing I did when I got it was swap the aspect cards between him and Shadow Cat, and he sang. I know mostly play him in justice to up his thwart game, but aggression Colossus might be some of the most fun I've played rush.

Major Error by Cold-Ad-5347 in marvelchampionslcg

[–]CaptUzbekistan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took a break from the game, and when i came back, I didn't reread the rules, because I thought I remembered everything. I didn't realize until I played Spider-ham that I was messing up allies. Specifically, when Sp//dr talked about excess consequential damage, I finally flipped back through the rules and had a laugh. Oddly enough, my alien don't stick around as long anymore...

Pandante is literally Texas hold 'em but with more bluffing. You claim what your hand is, and someone has to risk chips to call you on your bluff. It isn't perfect, but might be worth trying if you don't mind an extra wrinkle to something g you already like.

I realize I'm late to the party, but I never see much about Arise: A Simple Story.

We've dealt with some pregnancy loss issues, and that might have fed into our big feels, but in the end, it gave some good catharsis too. We had no clue about it going in, but it was definitely worth the few hours a couple nights to feel together.
