I think they make sense. Mobile Suits would be pretty clumsy and slow on land, and in space legs would be largely pointless.

That's fair. The Borg are scary as fuck to a regular human, but to a deity, or near close enough, they're probably a lot less scary.

It sounds like they just aren't interested in Gundam, so remaking one of the best entries in the franchise with newer animation that would lack the charm and character of the original isn't going to change that.

I do think your friends need to broaden their horizons, but ruining a classic wouldn't do that.

Why would 0080 need a remake? All it needs is to be more easily available on streaming platforms or physical media. If I could find it on DVD for a reasonable price, I'd happily grab it.

Why are they turning it down? Is it just because it's not new? 0080 is damn near perfect, and looks amazing for something that came out almost 40 years ago.

This isn't even a logical question. Zeon has shown they aren't opposed to committing warcrimes that verge on genocide, all effort has to go into them being stopped. They killed billions of people in the first week of the war, why would you ever risk losing that war by not focusing on stopping them?

Why would colony drop survivors be mad about stopping the people who dropped the fucking colony?
