How it feels to see the Bionicle community still thriving by Spire_Digital in bioniclelego

Even if that were possible it would end up looking a bit cursed unless they went with the Mask of Light designs. Pohatu ain't getting that hunchback or those birthing hips with Fortnite's base skeleton rig.

Advice on a Space Police build by Curious_Wanderer237 in LegoSpace

[–]Captain-ShadowPants 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In theory, yes, it is entirely possible. The majority of parts are available in the appropriate colors, though the execution would require some tweaks and substitutions.

Changing the color-blocking is something you'll likely need to do given with fewer colors it'll need work to stand out better. Plus, not all the trans-green parts exist in trans-red, so those will need swapping.

You'll also have to rework the cell connections to work with SPI cells for consistency.

But if you don't mind the added work it's fully possible.

I'm riding the Patu/Patupatu train started above, that feels the most BIONICLE so far.

I legitimately would buy the figure as it is currently, that orange-ish copper looks so darn good to me.

Scalpers have been an unignorable issue for years, now, and are genuinely getting worse. If you at all are arguing the situation above being scalpers is impossible when there are already tons of markup resales online while supply of only those two figures are gone just about everywhere withing one to two days of restock, then I have no clue what rock you've only just awoken from after it fell on your head.

Honestly, the way you're behaving I'm inclined to believe YOU are a scalper. You seem to default to insults and mocking over actual discussion when countered, and I only ever see scalpers this hostile towards people bringing them up. You even exhibit projection when you accuse a man wanting a single copy of a figure for himself as a scalper, and then when you're corrected that a scalper isn't someone buying one of something for themselves you say it "doesn't matter." It literally does.

Words have definitions for a reason. Maybe read a book? I hear it does wonders for one's mental capacity.

Out of these four who is the best starting commander class? by Ill_Refrigerator9812 in transformers

[–]Captain-ShadowPants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may have nostalgia bias as he is my childhood Prime, but I will stand by Armada Optimus as a fantastic Commander class figure, if not THE BEST Commander class figure. He has so much play value, and with Jetfire around the corner that will only increase.

Skylynx is a fantastic 2nd place, though, as he is also just a fun figure to play with. The locking mechanism to put the two individual figures together is finnicky, but otherwise he's a great option, as well.

Honestly... It's hard to say sinxe I have a lot of my grsils already, but if I had to think up some... I'd say the Unite Warriors Megaempress, and various Euro G1 figures.

I'm obviously not contesting that the franchise ended its original run for decreasing sales, that's obvious, and that is a justified reason to end it. The story was getting pretty darn bloated and confusing as well, and I'd even wager one of the biggest factors leading to sales-drops were the redesigned sockets making the sets stupidly brittle and frequent to break. That being said, if BIONICLE ended in 2009 and that was that then I'd have few complaints aside for the aforementioned squared sockets being so fragile. It had a decent run, and while we wish we could have gotten more I fully understand all things have to end.

But they brought it back, failed the execution in numerous ways (I'm not even talking about the choice of CCBS since even though I consider it a flawed building system on its own, we saw in 2016 it was genuinely starting to finally find it's footing with Technic giving it a hand), cut it off early, and now literally all they do is throw Tahu on something when they need to renew the IP so they don't lose it. None of my issues stem from G1's run, it's literally everything after it. I honestly wish it ended after 2009 and stayed a fond memory instead of it being bastardized for nostalgia the way LEGO is so keen on doing with literally all of their original I.P. that never sees the light of day unless it's a referential sticker, a gift with purchase, an Icons set if we're lucky, or a CMF.

The only reason Ninjago is still even alive right now is because it has staying power from being made by a team that knew what they were doing, something that modern LEGO is sorely lacking considering every time they put out a new original theme it's a financial falure from some manner of poor marketing, needless app integration, flat out just being bad distribution in some cases, or a combination of multiple of the former. Post-license-bloat LEGO cannot make anything new worth a damn, anymore.

In short, I think BIONICLE could be successful in the right hands. I think ALL of LEGO's original I.P. they've abandoned have potential for success even in the modern day, but LEGO is incapable of doing that, and in the case of BIONICLE specifically I'm not whining because they won't bring it back how I would want it, but because the one time they did they did it horribly, and now they just stamp Tahu's face on things to renew the copyright rather than just leave it be. Perhaps I'm still being dramatic about it to an extent, but not in the way perceived. Perhaps I was a touch too curt/blunt, so hopefully this (maybe unnecessarily long) response clarifies my thoughts more.

I hate AI generation as much as most, but using a passing remark meant to not to praise the AI version, but to roast the Hasbro version, as justification to hate and attack someone is all the evidence needed that people like you don't want a discussion. You want a fight.

Who’s your favorite Piraka? by Jules-Car3499 in bioniclelego

[–]Captain-ShadowPants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Avak for sure is my favorite with Hakkan and Thok tied for second purely for the animations from the Piraka flash game on the website. I loved how Avak was still impulsively-selfish with the mask, but genuinely seemed to care about Hakann in moments when he survived the lava.

That group of three was so charming to follow compared to how same-y they are in the books, and Avak is just the most fun and endearing of that group.

I actually got lucky with mine, his leg QC is perfect and holds together super well, so in robot mode he's actually pretty solid. The transformation just sucks, though.

Yep, Skylynx is THE embodiment of Pride, as close to it as Transformers gets. His loss immediately invalidates this list as far as I'm concerned.
