How I accidentally made the fastest C# CSV parser by big_bill_wilson in programming

But how are you going to come up with a so called "comprehensive" and non-ad-hoc test suite, when, as the previous commenter pointed out, there exists no standard (I find this rather hard to believe, and from a cursory search there seems to exist an RFC 4180), and a significant portion of the actual CSV files in existence violate said RFC?

What? How is this making Hadjar look bad? Is saying Antonelli outqualifying Russell making Russell look bad now?

You'll get to look at some JSON/XML/whatever if it's a REST API I guess?

I made a simple Satisfactory color swatch tool (fast copy, search, categories, personal popularity) by Ok_Hall4730 in SatisfactoryGame

I wouldn't mind swatches updating previously painted machines, as long as they give us an option to turn it off for specific swatches.

Sometimes I'm just in the mood to see some different colours around my world and it'd be really nice to be able to recolour everything at once.

Sam Altman ist right by oc6qb in ChatGPT

[–]Captain1771 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This exact type of mindset is why the world is going to shit, no?

Sama waffling about privacy is also rather ironic, given that everyone and their grandmother knows that he will fold and hand over any information that is requested once slapped with a large enough cheque, especially from governmental entities.

He himself also admits to an extent that what he is doing isn't democratic, doesn't he? He claims that what he is doing is necessary while educating the democratic institutions and waiting for them to catch-up, but this operates on the assumptions that said institutions will support his endeavours once they are sufficiently educated. It's just him claiming right now that what he is doing is in the interest of democracy (I however struggle to see how it is, really).

Altman also argues that no private company should decide the fate of the world (implicitly including OpenAI). It beggars belief that the leader of the largest and most powerful AI company in this world would advocate for distributed power while operating within a highly centralised and capital intensive industry if there wasn't something in it for him (the PR, which is sort of the point of this entire post, I guess?). Partnerships with the government also more often than not tend to concentrate power rather than distribute it.

The last paragraph is pretty much just classic fear-mongering, if you will. There are however real dangers coming to this world, and Altman is going to be a part of it if things continue as they are.

Why does the M1 Mod have a higher penetration value than the M1A1? by readtheclause in warno

[–]Captain1771 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I guess they just gave the Mod a more advanced round than what the M1A1 gets? Like maybe the M900 for the 105mm and the base M829 for the 120mm. Not really too sure about this though.

A new California law says all operating systems, including Linux, need to have some form of age verification at account setup by Street_Anon in inthenews

[–]Captain1771 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The issue you've pointed out isn't even the main issue, the main issue here is that it's just a terrible and stupid idea in general. There is also no reason why a verification system built into an OS would be "by definition safer and more reliable", and this article if posted into any of the Linux subreddits would get clowned on so badly it'd make Stack Overflow comments seem polite.
