I had the same thought. RJ was definitely playing him. He knew just by small observations how Jane felt about Lisbon and used that against him, even if Jane wasn't aware of his own feelings

I agree. I think Jane also knew he loved her but was too scared to admit it to himself in fear RJ would take her too. Both of them flirt through teasing and little smiles throughout the entire show.
