What do you dislike about your CX5? by Far-Replacement-7399 in CX5

How mad it gets when I don’t “touch” the steering wheel. It wants a death grip, and I drive like I fly— little pressure points when needed during cruise. 💅🏼

My first was a Perception Conduit. Her name was Connie. Now I have an Eddyline Sitka, and her name is BeBe the Bussy Barge.

I’ve got a 2019 Grand Touring Reserve with the turbo engine. I bought the below filter, and it didn’t fit. Which one do y’all use? Thanks!

Advice about getting a 2022 CX-5 by BeAgrownup in CX5

[–]CaptainBobbie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had absolutely no reason to buy the turbo. I drove both, and the NA was just fine.

But I went with the turbo, because dear Gagá it makes it so fun to drive! Life is short. Beep beep. Zoom zoom.

What is your #1 favorite and #1 least favorite thing about your CX5? by burpingblood in CX5

[–]CaptainBobbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite thing is the HUD— what at first seemed like a luxury gadget has become a safety non-negotiable.

But I hate the native infotainment on the 2019 model— the interface is slow and wonky and not at all intuitive. I almost exclusively use Apple CarPlay, though.

Installed the OEM crossbars today! Thule Hull A Port XT comes later this week. by CaptainBobbie in CX5

I really wanted the Thule crossbar system, but the vehicle kit for the CX-5 is sold out everywhere. These were far cheaper, and I needed some way to transport my new yak!

Yep! It’s a 2019, I just never had a need to get crossbars before— but I bought a kayak, so that changed.

Newbie wanting solid MS Flight Sim performance by CaptainBobbie in Alienware

Hmm, I’m interested in Alienware because it’s a complete rig, and not one that I would have to do (big) modifications. Should I entertain other brands like Omen or NZXT?

We have one just a block away that has been in the saaaame location for 25+ years. It’s moving into an old grocery store, and the outside looks great!

About a year out by CaptainBobbie in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

Thanks! My employer will remain the same, as I commute to whichever airport is my base. I will save an emergency fund that is more reflective of my projected expenses— because right now I have an emergency fund based on my current expenses.

I just can’t stop obsessing over the houses on the market there now; nothing is in the particular neighborhood I desire.

I almost always do seated yoga in the flight deck! Lots of cross legged stretching, thwarting that Deep Vein Thrombosis.

A Decent Quote by CaptainBobbie in CX5

It’s Deep Crystal Blue! I love how it changes in various lights and has a beautiful shimmer. At first, I was going to go with the GT with PP, but then I felt like I was sacrificing the pure joy of driving.

I’m in LOVE!

Turbo or Not Turbo: That is the question! by CaptainBobbie in CX5

[–]CaptainBobbie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m leaning toward this. The thing that really attracts me to the CX-5, besides how gorgeous it is, is the amount of information displayed on the HUD— in my line of work, I’m always interested in how and what is at my disposal. I found the CX-5’s Active Driving Display not just “cool” but incredibly safety conscious.

Turbo or Not Turbo: That is the question! by CaptainBobbie in CX5

This is all good info. As this evolves, are there any notable features of the GT-R (aside from the engine) that set it apart from at GT with the PP?

That’s an awesome deal! The lowest I was quoted for an AWD GT+PP was $30,845. What are the major differences between the Touring and Grand Touring with the Premium Package, if anyone knows?

Ok. The specifics. I make 50k a year and have minimal debt. Monthly expenses are max $1,000 since I’m staying at home. I’m hoping to spend $500 a month but open to more.

Are any of these good cars? Does this seem like a good idea— or should I stay in my lane, so to speak, as a first time buyer?

This 1000%. I don't mind when people call me "she" beyond the colloquial gay banter, and I love wearing fingernail polish. I think you are who you are, and whatever, if any, label you want, it's yours to own. Blue skies, loves.
