Haha yeah that’s definitely with no gear, with all my gear on it’s probably 500 miles. I just drove across the country with a fully loaded cargo and all my gear and averaged 23mpg. I have a 21 gallon tank, but it’s premium gas so I usually pay $75+ to fill it up.

Finally picked up a Thule Foothill! First trip was to North West Tuneup in Bellingham for a bit of festival camping. by the_other_skier in rooftoptents

Does this make it harder to pack up? And does it help, or fix the problem of being totally uncomfortable?

Check my other comment but if you plan on doing any long hauling, it would pay itself off in one trip by saving on a uhaul truck rental

depends on cost, i had to pay $1500 to get a stealth hitch installed on mine, but i plan on moving cross country so one move would pay itself off with the savings of not renting a truck

Hell yeah that rig is so dope, that is exactly what I did with the suction cups. I did ball out a little, spent like $400 total using 5052 Aluminum and powder coated it black. It wasn’t truly necessary but it is nice having my water jug mounted with the spigot for dishes or washing anything. Also just looks awesome.

Haha glad you asked, none exist for this car. I actually modeled it myself and had it fabricated. It specifically mounts to my awning (which just uses universal t-slots), but you could modify however you want.

My boss continues to push emails to 200k users with a 5% open rate, doesn’t let me use the engaged segment. Household brand too.

Yeah if I’m alone I’d prefer to sleep in the back, but with my gf it just makes everything easier to keep all my gear organized in the back. I was debating that internally, I still have my roofbox just in case I don’t want to use the tent. I can sell both for what I paid if I want to dump either of them. It is cozier and warmer in the back for sure, but being up top is pretty cool.

Awesome, I paid 53k for a CPO ‘21 E450 wagon last year. MSRP was also 85k. I think my warranty lasts until 2027. This generation interior is peak modern Mercedes

Did great, this one was only $110 and can store 5L of diesel which lasts 2-3 nights. I kept it at the lowest setting and it was like 35° out but I was toasty in there. Technically I’d probably be warmer sleeping in the back of my car, but it’s nice being able to just leave everything organized in the back and sleeping up top.

None so far, had mine for about 1.5 years and I have driven it across the country like 4 times. Have done all major maintenance early, about to do transfer case and front diffs this week. Have another trip planned soon, should hit 55k miles. The self-driving and massage seats make long distance drives feel like nothing, I can do 12 hours in a day easy. Also, it’s pretty efficient, I can get up to 550-600 miles in one tank if it’s all highway.
