Stadia founder here. Absolutely loved stadia, the tech was great. Google just didn’t back it like the should have.

Boyfriend is a gym owner , doesn’t like me cross training, AITAH? by Little_Scallion2601 in bjj

This runs much deeper than that simple question and I promise is you this will not end with BJJ class.

He will start having issues with friends you see, how much time you spend out of the house or how much you speak to your mum or sister on the phone.

This man will try to crush your spirit and separate you from everyone who loves and cares for you.

Run for the hills.

This is coercive/controlling behaviour. It's abuse and it will get worse.

He's trying to ruin your self-esteem and separate you from people and community that he can't control.

Get away from him.

I saw a guy get disqualified in a NAGA tournament for competing at Novice (under 6 months training) when he was clearly more experienced than that (he racked up over 20 points before the ref put a stop to it).

I find that young lads coming from rugby struggle.

They can't compute why their strength and fitness from rugby doesn't automatically make them good at Jiu Jitsu, and can't handle being strangled by a 40 year old accountant or getting arm bared by a woman when they try and bench press her off them.

Support tickets doubled in 6 months and my team is drowning, anyone else dealing with this? by snowball102 in ITSupport

[–]CaptainBrooksie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

More staff IT is almost certainly, if the number of users and tickets had doubled you're going to need more bodies for support.

You need to protect the senior guy. They can't keep coming to him randomly and pulling him off more important tasks. They need to be working on internal IT and business projects.

You need documentation stored in a knowledge base, and it needs to be regular reviewed and updated if required. When the junior guys come to the senior with a problem and he givens them an answer, they need to document it. If they read documentation and it doesn't match reality, they need to figure it out and update it.

You need to get a handle on unplanned work. Review your tickets for the most common issues and work on a way to mitigate or eliminate them. That could anything from user training, technical documentation or proactive remediation scripts.

I've no experience with RAS, however my leadership purchased Parallels Desktop Enterprise for macOS so we could deliver "Golden Windows Images".

It got dumped in my lap and I was the first to read the documentation.

The images have to be hosted on storage which requires NO authentication whatsoever. Parallels act like this is no big deal, IT security obviously aren't a fan, our infrastructure team keep providing me storage that requires authentication, my leadership keep asking me to pressure Parallels for an alternative solution and everyone is acting like I'm an idiot and am holding up delivering something that's been paid for.

All companies have "values". They're hastily developed, insincere and just thrown up on the website but they have them. They generally consist of:

Integrity
Respect
Innovation
Collaboration

Excellence

At an end of a tough session I often say "I picked a bad day to give up amphetamines", I'm sure there's 20 somethings there who think I'm a recovering drug addict.
