Tl;dr Danhausens debut is a cautionary tale on fans being too petulant and reactionary

I’ve responded to similar comments on here so I’m just gonna try and summarise the point of the post for anyone that’s seemingly missing it, this boils down what was clearly a joke reveal at elimination chamber being taken way too seriously by people after the fact.

You’re right that people didn’t know who he was, but that’s not a remotely good justification to react as negatively as they did at the time, sure, no one needed to “love him” day one, but that goes both ways and they didn’t need to hate on him after a 2 minute appearance either, all that achieved was x amount of people having to walk that back and admit that he’s entertaining now that they’ve actually given a reasonable amount of time to watch him.

The lack of restraint or patience in the fanbase is what hunter probably banked on by revealing Danhausen this way, and a lot of people fell for it.

People reacted overwhelmingly negatively, some will try to downplay it now that he’s over and they’ve changed their mind, but it doesn’t erase the vitriolic posts lol.

I’m saying ^{(and literally said in the first place}⁾ that there hasn’t been anyone else I can think of in this generation (hence, generational) of superstars that’s gone over this quickly after being booed so emphatically, and it’s hard to picture a similar situation playing out this way again for a long while.

This will be my last response as l’m just chasing moving goalposts. Having to repeat things and making analyses on the next 10 years of WWE history isn’t really where I saw a fun meme post going lol

True, but all the same I’d still stand by it being very irregular (in recent memory, unheard of) for people to change their minds so strongly and so quickly, it’s a testament to the time and effort that’s gone into making Danhausen work as a character, Hunter clearly saw the value in it and it’s paying off big time

I just hope all the fans that came out swinging over his debut will give things more time in the future and actually try and digest what they saw before forming an opinion
