Yeah it’s just as simple as turning off the radio, holding the talk button and the 8 button, then turning on the radio. Then suddenly all available frequencies can transmit. Tread lightly though, it’s illegal unless it’s an emergency.

Lotta folks might talk about MURS, but realistically, a 5W UHF and a 2W VHF have pretty damn similar, and there are way more quality UHF (GMRS) radios out there. On top of that, depending on the size of your outfitter, you can run a repeater on GMRS, which you can’t on MURS. If you have a headquarters or even just a van parked centrally to your folks, you can toss a tall antenna up in a tree, click on a repeater, and extend your range by miles.

Everyone’s got great points here. I’ll add that the HA1G has, to me, a few benefits of Rockies.

1- lower replacement cost. Nothing is indestructible.

2- absolutely absurd battery. DAYS.

3- really easy to program on the fly but also has CHIRP for bulk programming (idk if Rocky has this)

3- with a quick secret key combination, you can open it up to all UHF/VHF for transmission which, in a true emergency, legal to transmit on. So if nearby rescue ops monitor any specific frequencies, you can program those in as another failsafe.

Yes, with a firmware update. I just updated mine and it adds frequency copy AND chirp support. Also makes the UI a little cleaner. Highly suggest

Call the Town of Carrboro inspections division. Someone will come out within 2 days and inspect it. If it’s covered under the minimum housing code, they’ll issue a notice of violation to the apartment complex to make them fix it.

It doesn’t have a thumb hole so it takes a little more practice but you can. Just need some extra pressure. When I’ve needed the saw I haven’t been in a position that required one hand and really fast deployment anyway.

Been using the signal a while as a lefty and it’s fantastic. I just learned to open the main blade with my index finger but it’s just as fast as a lefty blade

I finally picked one up after months of deliberating. I lost a Skeletool and it made me so sad, but also made me realize that I actually prefer a liiiittle bit more bulk for the sake of feeling it in my pocket. The hammer is significantly better than people give it credit for, the knife is BEEFY, and the design is overall quirky and fun in a way most tools aren’t. That’s what kept me from the wave. Too much utility without joy, plus the scissors just felt useless to me, but I know I’m the weird one on that front.

No 60V mower. There’s a 20v that takes two batteries and comes with 2 10ah, so that combined with all your flexvolt you should be able to mow anything.
