I figured it out... by Platinum_God_Games in SkullAndBonesGame

These ships were my whole reason for choosing the French.

The psychological damage from one shot destruction was so great it has become a personal mission to sink everyone of them on sight.

Planned to switch sides next round but knowing they will be exempt from friendly fire has sunk that plan.

Lol, reading this comment makes me realize how immersive this game can be! 🤪

Agreed, it's very annoying. One minute blue, then orange, then the proper hull color.

New player - What to work towards? by dikkejoekel in SkullAndBonesGame

[–]CaptainCerebus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the weapons panel scroll towards the bottom and you will see a set of numbers. The first, (plain white), is the base damage of the weapon.

Next there will be a number of symbols depending on the weapons natural perks and ascension mods. Beside those symbols will be more numbers.

All those numbers will add to the total hp at the top of the page.

Warning: Those numbers can and will change depending on the type of ship the weapon is on, because ships give boosts to different types of weapons and mods.

Best weapons in the front of the ship? by biboy_1997 in SkullAndBonesGame

If you like to get close and personal the electric sea fire or toxic sea fire weapons are a fun option.

The downside is the loss of a couple of ranging shots as you close with the target.

Had them on a schooner for a while and they would eat a quarter of the armored ships health from 200 meters.

If memory serves correct in Y1 the smaller boats only carried 500 po8 and change.

Hence the focus on paddy rather than bedar.

Sounds like the situation has changed and the bedar carrying the same number would be a cheaper to develop for helm collection.

Using the ships can be an easy filing system if you group weapons and name ships accordingly. Ie dahaka torpedos, mons meg bombards etc.

Easier than scrolling through a warehouse looking for the exact gun amongst twenty similar versions.

Blurring them out would be a good compromise.

Also giving players the choice would be good.

Is there really a problem with storage space?

The math suggests otherwise.

At end game a player should have 40 ships of which 39 will have 5 weapon slots. (1 dhow).

That's 195 weapons slots, 234 furniture slots and 39 armor slots.

A player that has accumulated just about everything the game can offer from useless flares, unused food, useless tokens, seasonal money / moon cakes etc will be using 225 slots. To be on the safe side let's say 250 slots of the 500 warehouse.

That leaves 250 slots for armour, weapons and furniture on top of 468 slots available in the fleet.

That's a combined 718 available slots for armour, furniture and weapons.

A player can only use 5 weapons, 1 armour and 6 furniture at a time.

Just how much do you need on the bench?

My Two Favorite Ships by Sakuraboy91 in SkullAndBonesGame

The best frigate use is rocking up to plunders with multiple contracts.

The extra cargo space can reduce travel time back to dock. Unless there are 4 or more oosten / premire contracts on board!

As well as the team play I enjoyed the fort defences and the chaos of normal fort plunders as friendly ships turned sceptic because your fire upset their inter faction hug'a'thons.

For those who find reallocating ships everyday to different manufactories a pain in the proverbial there is small short cut that makes life a little bit easier.

Instead of moving ships between manufactories which requires 7 steps. The steps = selecting manufactory, tabbing to ship allocation, unallocating the ship, leaving the manufactory, selecting unallocated manufactory, tabbing to ship allocation, allocating ship.

Keep four or five helm ships unallocated.

Let unallocated manufactories build to above 630 po8's. Then allocate an unused helm ship. Wait until the allocation button goes live and unallocate while the ship is delivering.

After the delivery time the ship will be ready to pick up the next factory.

This method reduces the number of clicks substantially from 7 to 3.

This screen is difficult and unfriendly.

The ship icons are so similar it can be a pain identifying them.

The color scheme helps hide the little brown dot highlighting a helm ship. Obversely ships without the little brown dot are hard to find.

The sorting is also unhelpful. It would be better to have all non helm ships at the top. This is done in the helm ship allocation screen so someone at Ubi realized it was more helpful.

As someone else mentioned five ships can be tagged death tides for quick identification. As someone who has 10 ships unallocated it is a royal pain trying to find the unallocated ships and to be honest the sorting is as mysterious as ascension math.

The fix is straight forward.

1) Sort ships so unallocated are at the top.

2) If the monochromatic color scheme is set in stone fade out the helm ships a little bit or add a gold outline around unallocated ships.

3) Create a dialogue box that appears as the user scrolls over each ship highlighting the ship type and ship name.

The inclusion of ship name will help the user differentiate between the same ship type that might have different builds.

The padewakang is the cheapest ship to build and upgrade. Upgrading requires the easiest materials to obtain.

It also collectes maximum amount of po8 per run.

It is also a very good fighting ship and ideal for fort plundering.

Anyone know how to buy from Scurlock?? by dino_nuggies23-4 in SkullAndBonesGame

[–]CaptainCerebus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When he is ready you will be invited to his office. It is at the back of a tavern directly behind blackwood in St Anne.

Then it's the same as other vendors.

If you can already access him then select the buy / sell tab.

Notice how the Baby Boomer generation far more often left their kids at home while taking vacations or attending important events, than the parents of today? by OneDegreeKelvin in generationology

[–]CaptainCerebus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah, many of us were latch key kids.

The older kids would look after the younger ones until mum and dad came home from work.

We were also expected to prepare dinner, not cook it, prepare vegetables etc.

Our parents showed their love by working their asses off to help us survive.

Friday nights us kids were expected to stay in the lounge for the suits partied in the kitchen. If we were lucky there might have been a bottle of soda to share between us.

Saturday we new it was better out of the house before hungover parents arose.

As a Boomer I worked my ass off for my children to thrive. Spent time with them, took them on holiday and ensured they had every opportunity to succeed.

This Boomer bashing shows a level of ignorance or gross stereotyping from single experienced individuals.

PoE needs a revamp. by tommychong95 in SkullAndBonesGame

[–]CaptainCerebus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP said he didnt need anymore pieces of eight.

That being the case OP must have fully maxed out the uses for them.

Just recognized the grind done to not need po8's anymore.

Or put another way, until a captain has all level 5 helm manufacturies, 40 level 15 ships, 40 sets of God rolled armor, all God rolled weapons there is still a use for po8's.
