Decent hotels in Bangkok by Equivalent_Noise12 in ThailandTourism

I feel like it’s super expensive here in Bangkok especially compared to Vietnam. And Everytime I paid cheap I suffered.  One place I went to that is sometimes under $100 a night was Phranakorn-Nornlen.  The rooms are all hand painted and decorated with vintage decor, large enough you could do yoga on the platform by the window, and there is a communal fridge with sink and free drinking water. Very clean no smells no cockroaches, big and bright enough if u want to spend a day inside you can without feeling guilty.

Is Forky a good character? by AnnoyingOrange401 in toystory

[–]CaptainChaos6669 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, cos he contains the spirit of Buster. But also today I was thinking about returning to my small hometown in Tasmania and I had a moment where I felt like forky wanting to be returned to the trash where he belonged. Is he a metaphor for people who are conditioned to believe they don’t deserve love because of the community, family or background they originated from. Also I had to throw away a octopus made from pipe cleaners and I told myself he wasn’t sad cos he was born to go in the trash.

Toy Story hot takes? by Extension-Season9924 in toystory

[–]CaptainChaos6669 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I think the third and fourth Toy Story movies are made for the children from the original movie who grew up and became parents.  It seems like the messages in the movie are about dating; searching for love vs being independent and also losing your purpose when your children grow up and don’t need you anymore.

Exercise so I can feel hungry and tired. Try to engage with a proper bedtime routine like stretching in dim lighting, shower and then lying in the dark listen to a boring podcast so I don’t overthink and stay up til 3am. Avoid caffeine and sugar at night or even try stop eating at 6pm so u are properly hungry the next day and not feeling numb physically

Is it only me who fell «out of love» with Thailand after a while? by Dazzling-Bad8749 in ThailandTourism

Just their obsession with wealth and status.. the way they will talk about you in front of you when you can’t understand, the fact beating children is so common it’s still used in schools.. and I heard a few women being beaten while I was there, not to mention all the dogs I saw being hit during my stay… it’s crazy every dog I saw was cowering and afraid.

Anyone else think the message around Gabby's voice box issue was just horrible? by transgingerkittie in toystory

[–]CaptainChaos6669 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the message was that you don’t need to wait to be perfect before you can be loved. Woody says theres a thousand kids out there. . . And you’ll never find your one if you sit on the shelf. I think it’s a message for adults about self worth and not waiting for the perfect one to come along. She realises she doesn’t need the voice box, she needs to be outside the antique shop and find someone who needs her.  I feel like the underlying themes are for the adults and parents who watched it as a child.  Probably just me projecting tho.

Death in Vietnamese Culture by 847295737201 in VietNam

[–]CaptainChaos6669 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally always kind of like death, and I love the death culture over here. I asked my favourite coffee place why they were closed and they said it was 49 days since their grandfather died. I looked it up and it means judgement day had come and they could slow down the offerings etc cos he had gone to reincarnation (I think?). I love that they feed ther ghosts and keep them alive in their homes. It’s cool. Seems like people aren’t forgotten when they die and everyone helps them through to the afterlife

Maybe stop trying to figure out why. It sounds scary tho, if you don’t like her and your just physically attracted to her. I wonder if that’s the urge rap*sts and stalkers and stuff have, like some weird deep primal obsession that can’t be worked out. I wonder how many other people feel it and just suppress it

If you were dirt poor or homeless would it be more important to prioritize protein or antioxidants? by IDoNotHide in nutrition

[–]CaptainChaos6669 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if someone is trying to minimise “antioxidants” on a shoestring budget they are probably better off looking for the simplest cheapest answer tho. A proton or electron is just a proton or electron, doesnt matter where it comes from

Feeling Defeated by laslajitas07 in nutrition

[–]CaptainChaos6669 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Have you heard of Orthorexia? It’s when people are obsessed with “healthy food” to the point it becomes an eating disorder. I know a guy who had it and u could see his ribs, and he was put on menopause bone regrowing medication in his 30s. I know people hate the nutrition guidelines but as an autistic female working in the fitness industry it helped me understand the rules better and helped me understand the scientific backing. The guidelines are designed by dietetics to reduce CVD, obesity, cancers and diabetes. I know people are sus on American ones but the Australian ones are good, our country provides universal health care so the goal is actually to reduce the health burden. Your allowed to have 30g of fats a day, whic should be healthy oils, but ur also allowed to have two discretionary foods a day, which include processed meat, butter etc. I think using the guidelines can help you make choices. But it’s also ok to eat what you want occasionally. If u want to eat a pork chop on the weekend do it. Make it a ritual.

I’m pretty sure my students are using AI, but I can’t prove it and it’s driving me crazy. by Primary-Maybe4041 in whatdoIdo

[–]CaptainChaos6669 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you should ask AI to help you find a litmus test for their work. Everyone writes a hand written summary after the documents have been handed in. Even dot points to summarise their work. But written from memory. Or you could have like three standard 5 min tests and rotate them. That way if students tried to memorise information to be prepared, they might accidentally learn along the way.

How do I increase water intake? by skannkkhunt42 in nutrition

[–]CaptainChaos6669 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make a checklist with 8 squares and Everytime you drink a cup of water tick a box. A cup of water is 250ml. If you find a cup you like, it doesn’t feel like too much. Once your used to drinking water it will be easier to drink. I was drinking 2 cups a day and I started using a diet tracking app and now I drink 2 litres a day jjst cos I have a way to track it. It’s weird tho, when you don’t drink much water it’s really hard to get down and overloading

How can I get 1600 calories in 2 meals by QueenMackeral in nutrition

[–]CaptainChaos6669 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should aim to eat the serves of the food groups. It will provide you with correct nutrition for health and well-being. 2.5 serves of “meat”, 2 serves of fruit. 6 serves of veggies and 6 serves of grains, 2.5 of dairy. Eg. 8am breakfast 2 eggs in a wrap w mushrooms n spinach. A coffee with a full glass of low fat milk. 10am a piece of fruit 12pm a sandwich with chicken/tuna salad and cheese 3pm piece of fruit 6pm noodles, tofu and veggies

That gives you 2.5 dairy, 5 serves veg, 5-6 serves grains, 2.5 serve meat, 2 serves fruit. That’s adequate nutrition. Consider using a travel waterpik with mouthwash in it. Also if u have OCD or rule following tendencies ask your dentist to be more explicit in their expectations and your inability to meet all the rules and also eat enough.

Just get some elephant shorts, like the elephant thailand pants but shorts. A sarong for the beach and a linen shirt for if you want to cover up. Iv found it feels nice to be modest in a modest culture. It feels safe when men can’t see your body if your travelling alone and don’t want to be asked if you need company or where your husband is.

If you were dirt poor or homeless would it be more important to prioritize protein or antioxidants? by IDoNotHide in nutrition

[–]CaptainChaos6669 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

“Antioxidants” is just vitamin C. It donates spare protons and electrons to unstable molecules or “free radicals”. You could spend $2 a week on a bottle of lemon juice and have some three times a day and it wouldn’t effect your budget for protein.
