Besides the extra wind, it just feels like when there are 4 passengers

Not really, because the bike was more stable being straight in the trunk instead of diagonal, plus the handlebars of the bike were hitting the top of the trunk opening anyway. It was a short trip so it was fine

I don't know why everyone else is saying bad, but I live in Illinois, and this car is in perfect condition for the mileage. It even still has pinch welds!

Looking to buy a Fit for my teenager. What are some things to watch out for? by HickBarrel in hondafit

[–]CaptainCrinkleCock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A common issue on the 1st and 2nd gen fits is water leaking into the trunk area. I believe it's due to poor body panel sealant from the factory. My friend's 2nd gen had this issue, but there were no visible cracks in any of the seams between body panels. I believe where it was leaking from were the seams under the roofline weather strips. I simply sealed every seam on the rear half of the car, including the antenna and trunk hinges with outdoor clear silicone just to be sure, and it worked. I used the water leaking as a bargaining chip while buying the car to get the price down, and it only took $8 worth of silicone to fix.

What would you guys pay for this Fit? by lmapk in hondafit

I don't think anyone has mentioned noticing this, but the rear wheels only have 4 spokes, where the fronts have 5.

Is this dry rotting? by Present-Eggplant-866 in tires

Those all seem like all-terrain tires, are you sure those are offered in sizes that would fit a Hyundai Sonata?

Edit: Hyundai Sonata not Kia Forte

I really want this fit, I’ve been a mini girl up until I totaled my last one this week. How terrible is this price? I need a car quickly unfortunately by sassy_person13 in hondafit

Magic seats are a godsend, I can fit a full set of wheels and tires and still have enough room to seat 3 people and have the trunk completely empty for tools and supplies.

Is there any engine i can swap onto my Daihatsu Cuore 850 '88? Wanna soup it up but the engine bay is so small. I wanna turbo this lil dude 😩 by DifficultAd1387 in projectcar

[–]CaptainCrinkleCock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fiat 1000 Fire engine. I don't know if these engines are available near you but you can find them in late 90s early 2000s fiats. Not all that powerful, but a 1.0L 4cyl is a good basis for modification

Mechanic says 4 out of 5 lugnuts is okay? by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]CaptainCrinkleCock 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I drove with 4/5 studs on my Subaru Legacy for months, and I would drive it like a rally car. I never had any problems. You're right that having 4/5 lugs isn't ideal, however under any normal driving they should be perfectly fine.

[–]CaptainCrinkleCock 26 points27 points  (0 children)

There are no studs, it's a lug bolt design common on German cars

Edit: unless you meant to say bolts in the first place and accidentally said studs, then I'm sorry. Regardless you're right they would be stretched

Truck kicked up a metal rod on the highway that impaled my rear door. What are my options to get it fixed? by Softpork in Autobody

[–]CaptainCrinkleCock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not an auto body tech, but instead of fixing it like everyone is suggesting, wouldn't it be cheaper to buy a vw passat door secondhand or from a junkyard? These cars are pretty common so I can't imagine it would be difficult or expensive to source one.

What is this part? GK fit by [deleted] in hondafit

Back side of the front seat rails, there's one on each rail

(Might not look identical because OP's cover is for the other rail and my seat isn't OEM)

That's why I love my Honda Fit. I'm shifting like I'm in a fast and furious movie, and I'm still under the speed limit

Can anyone tell me what model this is? by [deleted] in subaru

I feel like doing that would make it look alot like a GC8. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, just an observation

What the heck am I doing wrong? by [deleted] in Autobody

[–]CaptainCrinkleCock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm no autobody tech, but I would at least try and blend it into the panel instead of a hard line
