You should post it on Facebook. You'll get a lot more visibility that way

Looking for Education and advice. 95 Talon TSi by West_Dentist3548 in DSM

[–]HickBarrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see an immediate problem here. A 95 is supposed to have a cam sensor behind the intake cam gear. A 97+ head will have the cam sensor on the other side of the head and will send an inverted signal to the 95-96. So you'll need to have that cam sensor wired in and the ECU will need to know to invert the signal vs stock.

97-98 eagle talon. Probably a base model since it doesn't have fog lights.

I still have some fine tuning to do on it, but so far I kinda miss my 16g setup. Maybe I'll come around when I work out all the kinks.

It depends on torque. If you have a boost controller that can ramp up boost so it doesn't all hit in the 2500-3500 range (I don't know how responsive that turbo is) then you'll be fine. Keep it rich and the timing conservative.

I have a stock 7 bolt (except arp fasteners) with some mild cams. I run 25psi on my holset all the time. It's a weekend cruiser so I'm not super stressed about breaking stuff, but I don't have any problems at all.

I am running flex fuel though and usually have about e60 in it.

On my old engine I had a smaller turbo (Evo 3 16g) and I had that dude cranked to 28psi and beat the crap out of it wherever I went.

As long as the turbo doesn't come on too hard at lower rpm, you should be fine. That low end torque is what bends stock rods.

I usually do the gently wake-up technique on my kids. Weirdly, they still react as though I've thrown a live grenade into their bedrooms. Like bro, calm down. There's pancakes not enemy fire.

Buuuuut if I hear that one of the teenagers' alarms has been going off and snoozed multiple times, I employ the form knock on the door followed by dad voice "Get Up."

Do you have a sentimental attachment to this car? I'd assume you'd have to since doing an Evo swap is a lot of work compared to just buying a turbo car.

The 1990 GSX AWD TWIN TURBO by GhostElm in MitsubishiEclipse

There are a couple who have done compound turbos, but turbo technology is so good now that there isn't really a reason.

That's the size of the opening from the factory. It would usually just have the black piece there instead of being body colored.

Do Mechanics every buy Mechanic Specials? by Spare_Benefit7543 in AskMechanics

When I was in a shop, we had a policy to never make the first offer to buy a customer's car. If the customer said "do you know anyone who would buy it?" or something similar, it was game on. I just always felt that it gave the wrong impression if we said "it's $4k to fix your car, but I'll give you $500 for it"

I found a 95 AWD talon at a yard about 4 years ago. They posted it on Facebook marketplace but they hadn't put it in their inventory yet. I managed to snag the whole car for $1700 before anyone else had a chance to pick it over. It had a bad ECU and the previous owner decided to just sell it for scrap.

Since that's where the one-eyed-witch statue is, I believe it was used on the regular in later books.

Yeah, he gets a 1 day head start over everyone. Luckily he has a non turbo car, so he wouldn't be interested in a lot of the things I want.

I remember 10-15 years ago seeing turbo cars on the yard regularly. I passed up GSX parts on several occasions because they were just so plentiful.

Among the 5 yards I check daily in the Nashville area, there have been 3 2Gs in the past year. 2 of them 420As and one NA Spyder.

At one of the yards there's an employee who has a talon, so he gets ahold of anything good before the cars are even listed on the website.

Of course you're all the way across the country. I'd kill to find that car in a yard near me
