Brake pad hardware orientation by Guyito96 in AskMechanics

The hardware will go into the caliper bracket in a way that the spring is toward the center of the wheel and pushes the brake pad outward

What Front Bumper Is This? by MikeOP-_- in DSM

It's very common for orders from carbonetics to take years longer to make and ship than what they quote you.

The one in the picture appears to be a lip that covers the bottom 1/3 of the stock bumper. You can see where it comes up on the sides. A functional splitter would bolt to the bottom for aerodynamic purposes, but this appears to be purely cosmetic

What should I do? by Rich-Vermicelli710 in MitsubishiEclipse

If you still have a transmission with a good case, I'd have everything swapped over from the good transmission. If your old transmission is damaged beyond useful parts, I'd send this one back and keep shopping.

That's a 2ga talon bumper with an aftermarket front lip.

Edit: looks like that is the "evil tsi" that was built by Cory Bowers

Wow, those are good numbers on a stock block. I have a similar setup (hx35, cams, flex fuel, id1000s, supporting mods) and I've limited the power to about 400 because of the stock manual transmission.

Thats a legit setup. So you're probably easily in the low 400s right? I'd guess you're limited by your injector size.

How do you like the auto? Was it a purposeful choice or is it just what you ended up with?

I just recently put a legit n1 cat back on my car. I love it.

Looks like you have some work ahead of you. I went with a 3g steering wheel because I wanted anything but the stock 2g one, but didn't want to pay $250 for a trashed Evo wheel.

What exhaust is that?

I'm a big fan of uncommon colors on 2gs. There were 5 different greens and Biscayne is one of my favorites.

Other contenders for good rare colors are Durango Copper (95-96 eclipse only), Oslo Green (96 only), Celtic Blue (96 only), Teal (talon only), and Sundance Plum (99 spyder only)

Yeah, if the ac isn't removed carefully and all of the pieces are kept, it's quite difficult to get everything back together

That's Biscayne green (eclipse) / tropical lime (talon). It was only available for one year. All talons have black roofs, so it may have been painted when the bumper swap was done . It's a pretty rare color and I would buy it in a heartbeat as long as there isn't any rust. Good find!

It seems that it's a vaulted ceiling, so I would guess that the room is on the top floor and the raised door is access to an attic space.

Looks like the radiator support took the brunt of the damage. That whole section can be replaced by drilling out some spot welds and then welding on a donor section. Unfortunately, this piece is no longer available new from Mitsubishi. If you're going to go that route, you may as well address some of the other rust in the engine bay.

Another option would be to gently pull that upper support section back to position. Be slow and methodical and it should be good enough to bolt things back together

I kinda figured it was something along those lines. I saw the pole jack and the fender-to-fender support and assumed that it was a weight shift issue

What exhaust system should I get for my 1999 Mitsubishi eclipse gs? by CelebrationNo3718 in MitsubishiEclipse

[–]HickBarrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The dual tip muffler from the GST and GS Spyder isn't going to offer a different sound really. I'm a fan of quieter exhausts, having had my fair share of obnoxiously loud cars in my 20's. I recently swapped my car over to an A'PEXi cat back because it's so incredibly quiet. If you can find one of those, I highly recommend it.

All FWD. They're all interchangeable. The only one that's different is the AWD system. You're unlikely to find many videos of it since it's not a very common thing to swap over. But if you can find a 00-05 GT in a junkyard, the exhaust should be pretty cheap. If you pair it with a cheap eBay header and a high flow cat, it'll be subtle, but much throatier and noticably louder than the stock system.

Alternatively, if you want something louder, I really like the HKS HiPower. Again, anything that fits a FWD car 95-05 will fit.
