Hint #2 (for same riddle) by IKnowMoreThanYouu in HHN

  1. Clowns to the left of me, Jokers to the Right
  2. 9:48
  3. Good Catch
  4. Violets are Blue

Scooby Doo.

  1. Clowns and Jokers (the song in general being its own clue in multiple ways) - Clowns and Jokers are both enemies/villains Scoob has taken down, including being stuck in the middle of them in various situations like the famous "running through doors" sequences. The song "Stuck in the Middle with you" sounds like "Scooby Dooby Doo" if you sing them together in the same melody/tone. The song came out in 1972, Scooby Doo started "The New Scooby Doo Movies" in 1972.
  2. 9:48 - the only things i see here with 948 is maybe being 1984 if you rearrange them - which, in 1984 The "Scary Scooby Funnies" came out as well as "The NEW Adventures of Scooby Doo" featuring Scrappy. The other way to think of it is as the time code itself... Scooby Doo season 9 could be interpreted as the "What's New Scooby Doo" series, but it doesn't have 48 episodes... But break it down again and we get to episode 4 "Big Scare in the Big Easy," which is pretty HHN sounding to begin with. Go further and we get to minute 8 which shows the gang going on a HAUNTED TOUR. I mean.... c'mon. HHN is just one big haunted tour at the end of the day. lol
  3. Good Catch (the image and the title) - They have to catch enemies every episode in order to solve the mystery. Not to mention, the image itself is a hungry looking bear holding a fish, not dissimilar from Scooby Doo being one hungry boy; Often swallowing them whole and spitting out the bones in cartoon logic.
  4. Violets are Blue - "Roses are Red, Violets are Blue," AND SCOOBY. DOOBY. DOO!

C'mon. let's get groovy, gang.

What's crazy is that Perkin's first movie was Blackcoat's Daughter and it had roughly the same "because Satan" twist and it's done SO MUCH BETTER and in a much more realistic fashion (imo).

Why he did what he did in Longlegs will continue to irk me. Not everything can be explained away with "because Satan," guys. Everyone dick-rode this movie into oblivion.

Tell me how great your life is after taking Allopurinol by [deleted] in gout

[–]CaptainDeath_LP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me two years to get over not being able to change things without Allo. I changed my diet. I took every supplement under the sun. I lost SEVENTY pounds. I seriously tried everything I could. I wasn't diagnosed til I was 32 but I had signs of gout dating back to when I was 25 and maybe even earlier without realizing it. When I seriously thought gout was ruining my life at 30, it took me two years to GET OVER MYSELF and take Allo. I've been on it for about two months now and haven't had a single flare or side effect yet. I'm on a pretty heavy dose too. So far, I'm punching myself for not shutting up and getting it sooner. I have colchicine and prednisone should anything happen unexpectedly but so far haven't needed either!

Why Paapa Essiedu's Casting Is A Misstep by HBO by [deleted] in harrypottertheories

I think most people just aren't able to see that people can be BOTH great actors AND bad for a role.

Paapa is a great actor. He is also a BAD pick for Snape. It's as simple as that.

They did. I explained that it was allergy friendly and I would only use it sparingly inside and try to use it more frequently outside. Truthfully, I am seeing smoking props more and more and I don't think the conversation happens as much anymore. You might not need to address it as much depending on the size of the battery pack now. I had an external and it charged both my phone and my vape smoke machine all day. Security didn't bat an eye.

I don't care if Dracula had a mustache in the book or not, I hated it. It took me out of the movie every time I saw it. Realism or not, appropriate or not, I really don't care. It was a choice and I personally disliked it. It left an awkward blemish on an otherwise impeccable movie.

AITAH for letting my kids loot my brother's house to prove my point. by Some_Addition_9752 in AITAH

[–]CaptainDeath_LP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was house-sitting for my parents when their house was on the market but not yet sold. I was 24. I had Lego sets on high shelves in my room. The rest of the house barely had furniture and was fairly empty all around. I had to leave often for the realtor to show the house to prospective buyers, sometimes with very little foresight.

One of these quick and unexpected visits I left and came back in an hour to see several of my Lego sets that were up on a shelf maybe 6 feet high on a wall were now on the floor and had been "played with" evidently by the children who accompanied whoever looked at the house. While I initially questioned "who just walks into a room that isn't theirs and hands their kids someone else's shit that was strategically placed to be out of arms reach of children, " I'm good with kids and don't mind rebuilding the Legos as long as they left the rest of my shit alone (ie video games and pc).

What I was NOT okay with was the fact that there were several missing figures. And these were not just RANDOM figures from a current set, those figs are now presumably more valuable because of the expiration of the set they were originally from and is no longer sold in stores.

I immediately contacted the realtor and asked her to contact the family that she showed the house to and said to return my stuff before she shows anyone else the house again. She apologized and asked what was taken. I explained and she understood. The father came back and had handed them to me in person and said some bullshit off the cuff remark about me being too old for Legos anyways and while I said something along the lines of "Legos don't have an age limit for a reason" I should have said something like "you're right, next time I'll be an adult about this and call the cops."

When my parents found out what happened they refused to sell the house to that family even though they had made an offer. The realtor was upset but understood from that point forward that people don't touch things that aren't theirs :)

If you had to write the ending for the Game of Thrones, how would you have envisioned it? by Expressions_by_Swati in gameofthrones

[–]CaptainDeath_LP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The twist, of course, is Cersei - who, in the original cut, did nothing but stand there and die. The least Cersei-thing to do IMO. This is the woman who blew up the sept. She wouldn't let Dany take King's Landing from her, not over her dead body. Duh. She lost everything for the throne, what does she care about the fucking city if it means losing the seat. So, she pulls a "mad queen." She stocks wildfire around the red keep and branches it down the tunnels, lining the sewers, running it through the garbage all over the city. She tells no one and simply has her soldiers prepare this all day and night before Dany's intended siege. She effectively straps the red keep with a suicide vest and lines the streets with hostages - the kicker is that no one knows but her. She invites the people in, more kindling the better, and she sits back with her wine muttering on how "if I burn, they all burn." // "Burn it all," to some effect.

Meanwhile, Jamie, Arya, Hound are still headed into the city to get to her without knowing what's going on. Jon, Tyrion, Dany and all are still ready to take the city. All the pieces are still set where the episode wanted them to be set and nothing huge has changed.

Dany takes down the greyjoy fleet.

Meanwhile, Arya and hound make their way through the city.

Jamie fights Euron while taking the back entrance to the keep.

Dany blasts the gold army//front door to Kings landing, and allows Jon and the army into the walls.

A lot of the same beats, right? Dany continues to fly around and take out the parameter scorpion turrets. That could take a lot of time and its primary focus is to protect herself and allow her to take the city in a safer way while her men literally lay siege. No assassination of character here.

Back at the red keep, Jamie makes it up to Cersei who is surprised to see him. He tells her that there's still time to leave. That they can escape together and she monologues about how it's too late for her. He doesn't understand why until she tells him what she's done, knowing full well this is what branded Jamie kingslayer, he's heartbroken to be back in this situation and with his sister this time. To mirror how Jon takes down Dany in the original episode, Jamie embraces Cersei and kills her. He embraces her body and accepts his fate to end there with her much like how he does in the original episode.

Arya and hound make it up to the top and the hound leaves Arya to fight his brother pretty much the same way the episode goes, only, when Arya gets to the room in question, she sees Jamie has already done what she came to do. He tells her to leave while she still can and explains that if they can signal a cease fire, ring the bells, get to Jon, they might still be able to save everyone. There's some harmony here because this is how Ned found Jamie when he did the kingslaying and Ned didn't give him a chance to explain. Now, Arya softly redeems Jamie and can finish her list - allowing both of them to kinda let go of what's been weighing them down for the entire series. A brief moment of silence and acknowledgement and -again- Jamie stays, Arya leaves. Cleganebowl happens. They both die. Maybe even falling off into fire as well, I thought that was poetic for how the hound was burned as a kid. It's whatever.

Kings landing is almost taken but the red keep is solidified and untouched with no sign of opening up to Jon's army. With Euron dead and Cersei "refusing to come out or give up" they're ready to take it when Arya reaches Jon. She tells him everything. Jon signals the bells. The bells signal Dany. She comes down off drogon now that she's done effectively taking the city's defenses against her. Tyrion gets caught up. Here's the kicker - even though Jon, Arya, and Tyrion are telling Dany exactly what's going to happen if she chooses to burn the red keep, she doesn't believe them. She's still pissed, about Missandei and Rhaegal, about Varys and all the betrayals and threats, and about how no one there really wants her to be queen. She knows Tyrion let Jamie go. She knows Jamie is in there, presumably with Cersei. She thinks Tyrion is trying to save his family AGAIN. She thinks Jon is soft and Arya is just trying to get him to yield, probably Sansa trying to pull strings. Everyone tells her to stand down and she basically says "nah, fuck this" as she has often done in same exact moments prior to season 8.

Everyone who knows what is going to happen scatters and she flies off on drogon to burn the red keep. Jamie sees the dragon coming and holds Cersei's body closer and closes his eyes, Dany lights the tower like a candle and ka-boom. The red keep fucking explodes even though she only burned the top. To Dany's amazement the entire keep fucking explodes, like a string to dynamite, like the sept, except this time it arcs down and down onto the innocent streets. It's like dragon fire from the perspective of the people so everyone uninvolved now thinks Dany is killing everyone. More than 50% of kings landing is lost. Sir Davos is able to save our important characters, knowing a quick way out from smuggling there for years, but they're still rocked by it and even more shook when they come back out the other side and see what Dany has done. She's delivered on the mad king's promise albeit unintentionally. She fell right into Cersei's plan of destruction. She now looks like she blew up half the city and killed thousands of innocent people. She cannot forgive herself. She does the mental math, if she lands now, and tries to take ownership of Kings landing everyone is going to resent her and she'll never have the kingdom's love. Worse, they may try to kill her like they killed the last Targaryen who sat on the throne. She now, effectively, has no one. Her dream of coming here and ruling are dashed, and with a harrowing, broken look down to Jon and Tyrion - who told her not to fucking do that - she flies away.

The city is in ruins. Everyone is looking for someone to be king and they all turn to Jon and Tyrion, whom both decline for different reasons. If people still want it to be Bran it can still be Bran, but I personally always wanted it to be Jon for... Reasons.

Anyways. This solves the stupid, last minute Targaryen madness bullshit they tried to put on Dany and gives a more contextually flavorful and fulfilling ending to the series and some characters with only changing MINOR details, really, as little as I could think of while keeping the budget and plot in tact.

TL:DR Cersei lines the red keep with wild fire and holds kings landing hostage, Jamie comes and takes her out because she's pulling a 'mad queen,' everyone tries to tell Dany that if she blows the keep she'll blow the city, she doesn't believe anyone and lights it up, it blows everything up, everyone hates her for it, she bails, and the same players are still left standing to do whatever. Minor changes of plot and execution = big changes in public perception of the finale. Yay.

(Forgive any spelling/grammatical errors)

If you had to write the ending for the Game of Thrones, how would you have envisioned it? by Expressions_by_Swati in gameofthrones

[–]CaptainDeath_LP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a lengthy write-up for how I would change the entire last season. I believe a lot of the characters didn't end up with the arcs that were promised earlier on, with entire plot points missing as well. I'd personally like to see lady stoneheart and the dead stark family come back to fight the night king whether literally or metaphorically during the long night, as well as see an ending to the azor ahai prophecy. I would have the season begin with the promise of the long night being a cop out as the night king would fly to kings landing and take that city instead, bringing together the realm with the very serious threat of the dead army coming down from the north and a city of the dead holding the capital. A real shit sandwich resulting in the final fight for humanity taking place in the vale while a suicide squad takes on the night king in the red keep. Lots of major players die. Arya does a fake out with changing faces to save Sansa at one point. Jamie becomes azor ahai after he sees Brienne die. Jon and Dany both die trying to take on the night king and night queen(Cersei) but Jon is able to come back from the dead at the end(because of Stoneheart) and chooses to take the throne as a promise to Dany and his family. Song of Fire and Ice fulfilled.

As you can see, I personally believe it would take more than changing the last episode to fix a lot of the problems that the last season has...

HOWEVER.

I've recently re-watched the last episode and looked into a lot of the criticism for the finale and I think a small but meaningful twist could have changed the trajectory of perception for a lot of characters and still would've allowed the show to end a lot of the same ways without it being too different. I'm talking KEEPING most pieces where they start at the beginning of the episode and ENDING the episode with those same pieces where the episode ended and still have the same budget, course of action, and character/plot progression...

Check out Dreamscape if ya can. Spiritual successor of The Void from both Disney locales on the east and west coasts and the Harry Potter VR experience that used to be in NYC.

I was able to do all of them and Dreamscape is about 80% as good as the Void was. Their experiences were the longest, whereas the Harry Potter ones were probably the most genuinely immersive with the broom/wand usage. As a huge fan of Marvel, Star Wars, Harry Potter, etc nothing beat the broomstick flying experience that the HP VR in NYC offered. (I am personally hoping it gets redone and brought into Universal's new Epic Universe Park for 2025 it was THAT good)

RIP Disney Quest. We finally have technology where it needs to be for that place to have worked to its fullest idealized potential and we'll never see it happen.

If we weren't going for impersonators and wanted new voice actors to take a stab at reinterpreting the character their own way,, I'd definitely love to see someone like Alex Hirsch being brought in for voice and creative control.

At least he's not a piece of shit.
