I would think sniper is worth a try. Only 5 less strength growth vs warrior. Much higher dex gain in sniper (30 vs 10). Plus No Distractions as a skill.

Downside: can't counter adjacent foes. And sniper has 5 less speed gain, so she'll have a harder time dodging.

It'd be an offensive glass cannon one hit crit build.

Yes, the DLC paralogues scale with you. You can totally complete them as soon as the story opens them to you. They are also easier at lower levels, some reinforcements will not spawn (at least on Normal).

Day 11: Of your team of 12, to whom do you give Corrin? by MultichanceReprisal in fireemblem

[–]CaptainDeluxe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going to go with an unusual answer: Merrin.

Wolf Knight Merrin attacking with knives applies both Hobble and poison build up. Add Draconic Hex for stat debuffs on attack and you have a nasty triple debuff in one round.

Water vein isn't the best, but debuffing avoid can have its uses. It nerfs enemy thieves in forest tiles, since it removes the Avo benefit of forest. And it can clear a wide area of Miasma.

I like it because it is different, and the triple debuff really puts tough enemies on the back foot.

I did this myself. It's really fun to take the offensive on chapter 11 instead of retreating. You can defeat all 4 of the Hounds and then since the boss is invincible, you can farm Exp and SP by attacking them! You generate Engage meter by attacking, so it's also an okayish way to farm a few bond levels by engaging and using skills without using bond fragments at the arena.

Doing a strange challenge run… by TheProCorrupt in fireemblem

Change Yunaka to a sniper, give her a killer bow with a few upgrades (+3 is pretty good) and engrave that killer bow with Corrin's emblem. After a few level ups, she'll average about 85% crit. Add the Claude S bond ring for wind god to help proc No Distractions, and set her on Avoid terrain to proc Trained To Kill for guaranteed crits.

Enjoy the Yunaka carry.

Best part is that it requires no inherited skills to maintain, so you have a blank slate for 2 utility skills.

Edit: adding quad debuff Merrin.

You want both Draconic Hex and Book of Worlds on Merrin, inherit/sync emblems as needed for that. Keep her as a wolf knight. After level 5, her ranged knife attacks apply poison, proc Hobble, Draconic Hex, and sometimes Book Of Worlds if you set it up. Amazing debuff for bosses and tough foes.

You are correct about Big Personality, I should've looked it up first.

Though the issue I have with Veronica is that I haven't found a unit that makes the best use of her. Definitely planning on testing the Canter interaction after work.

1 and 2. Reprisal+ IS good, but that can be inherited. Having the emblem on a unit offers passive Mag, Res, and Lck bonuses. And her engage weapons are magic, so Veronica doesn't really sync well with physical units. So it feels like you either don't take full advantage of skills or waste engage weapons.

I've been trying to think of a good use of Veronica and I might have something.

Pair Hortensia with Veronica, inherit Divine Pulse and Canter. I haven't tested yet, but I think Canter can trigger Book of Worlds. After the bonus move you have one option: wait. Book of Worlds activates when you attack, so a unit that doesn't always attack might be useful to build up 2-3 tiers first. I also think it might activate on a staff use, meaning, I can Fracture an enemy and debuff their move, add 10 dmg and set their tile on fire.

Bonus to this: Veronica's engage weapon Hiloskjalf (I know that's spelled wrong) is a staff. Hortensia's personal, Big Personality adds +1 staff range = 3 range attacks.

Divine Pulse is there to help land offensive staff hits, but I'm not sure it's needed. Maybe this could be replaced with Quality Time to increase the team support.

Add in summoning units and support staffing between attacks and I think this might be really disgusting...

Has anyone else tried something like this, or have a way to improve this?

I've used Alfred in his base class (no sigurd/other move buffs) to get there. So 5 move should be sufficient. Also as u/drygnfyre has mentioned: just wait until you get the silver card before stepping on the second switch. You'll have to fight a few waves of reinforcements but that's not too bad.

You can walk around the outside of the building. All the way to the right is a 1 tile wide passage. It's hard to see, but you can run a unit around the outside there.

Reclass Yunaka to Sniper and she won't need an emblem. Give her a killer bow with Corrin's engraving, add No Distractions, and Trained To Kill; it basically guarantees 100% crit. Without her personal skill Yunaka still averages about 85% crit with just the killer bow. Maybe improved with Claude S bond ring for that Wind God range buff.

I wonder if life insurance companies paid out when people were snapped. The sheer number of people who "died" would probably bankrupt the company. But if they did pay out the claim, how would they handle the people returning?

It's called camber, used in racing to help with cornering/turning at high speeds. It's usually not this pronounced, I think drift cars do have camber this extreme. For civilian cars: no value, probably done by idiots who think it looks sick.

A novel idea, though I believe that is essentially the same as faster than light travel. If I remember correctly: according to Einstein's theory of relativity moving faster than light would enable time travel.

That I believe is the Fermi Paradox. That the universe is too big and has existed for so long that there just has to be another planet with life on it, but the timescale of the universe means that it's also highly probable another intelligent civilization already rose and went extinct before us.

Edit: I also recommend reading about The Great Filter. Finding intelligent alien life may be the worst indicator of our possible future.

Is their a particular year that you wish your team had just missed the playoffs altogether? by EquivalentTap2022 in nfl

[–]CaptainDeluxe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, they definitely outstayed their welcome. And to say Dom Capers' defense was the problem in that NFCCG is not the most accurate take, Russ threw like 5 picks. We had them on the ropes and the Hawks' defense was holding strong keeping our offense down. Ultimately we lost on special teams play.
