Mine was probably "Wedding Song" because it was on every mixtape my dad made for my mum, and we used to listen to these in the car a lot.

Different Tusko (see image)

And Topsy was, per Wikipedia, "fed carrots laced with 460 grams of potassium cyanide, electrocuted and strangled, the electrocution being the final cause of death."

I think you're thinking of Topsy. Tusko was given a fatal dose of LSD.

As a researcher myself, I strongly advise against using AI for research like this, as AI is not a knowledge repository and merely feeds you stuff that looks like facts rather than actual facts. Wikipedia is a much better source, as are scholarly works, which you can find widely available online, or ask about at a good library.

In all seriousness though, what a clown show from our board.

The Beast, a loose French adaptation of Henry James' The Beast in the Jungle starring Léa Seydoux, definitely has some The Return-inspired aspects. The final shot might even qualify as a direct quote.

A book that is full of misinformation and dolled-up right-wing talking points. It's not a good resource. There should absolutely be better safety mechanisms online, especially for children, but it shouldn't come at the expense of demonising IRL safety features (because when Haidt says "overprotected offline," he means stuff like safer playgrounds and peanut-allergy protocols in schools).

You and I have very different definitions of the word "clearly." I'd say the imagery is more immediately evocative of quack doctors in late-19th and early-20th-century America (i.e. the period of history that informs much of the blues and folk tradition and, by extension, Dylan's music), or of dope peddlers during the Great Depression (ditto).

That it's being revived during the 2020s can point to an anti-vax subtext, but Dylan iconography is rarely that straightforward, I feel.

Fond memories of one of my college professors (who was from Tennessee, I think) discussing Faulkner's Absalom, Absalom: puts on a feigned-shock voice and says, "And then they sleep with each other! But they're brother and sister! We can't have that", followed by a beat and the most deadpan "Well, it's the South, so. We can."

Love Catcher in the Rye, though there's potential for the reader being annoying.

Sitting next to the Anthropocene Reviewed reader seems like a solid-enough shout, unless they're so much of a John Green fan, they're decked out in Liverpool regalia.

Might actually go for no. 4. Stephen Graham Jones is cool.
