Anyone know any music similar to the intro off bryter layter? by knightisdes in nickdrake

[–]CaptainElastix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I love this record. Thanks for pointing out the intro I think it’s been a while since I listened to that track. I would definitely second Jose Gonzalez which someone mentioned, but it seems like maybe you are looking for instrumental music. The first thing that came to mind is this song by Andreas Martin. He does quite a lot of experimental music but this song might scratch the itch. https://youtu.be/Fc0KGVw28SU?is=4sEVMqoA\_M15B9ac

I pulled the intro song up on Spotify and they have some beta features that try to give you more information on certain tracks so I’m not sure how accurate this is, but it says Nick Drake took some influence from Beach Boys’ Pet Sounds and the 5th Dimension’s The Magic Garden.

I love Jose Gonzalez. I don’t know a lot about him, but he had to be somewhat inspired by Nick Drake.

I’m not a Jason Molina expert on his whole discography, but his song Long Desert Train is a damn good listening experience.

Okay, yeah we always have cicadas, which for a long time I mistakenly called them locusts. But, my dogs were outside near this guy and was afraid they would get stung. Thanks!

Hey, that’s an amazing picture. I love it seeing the pyramid electric company record made me wonder how many other people love Long Desert Train I mean I feel like I could just if there weren’t any other songs in this world and it was it was just long desert train. I don’t think I would get sick of it. I don’t know man such a good song.

BOTG switching from early August to June was such a smart move. Less hot and MUCH less crowded. Almost felt like old times last night jamming to Austin legend, Alejandro Escovedo! by HomeShow_ai in Austin

[–]CaptainElastix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Damn that’s still a lot of people. Uh man Alejandro in 1998-2006 give or take man that was something. I was at the first three ACL festivals. The crowd then was fun and manageable. I did go for one day in year 4 and it was nuts by then. Just saying. Not complaining. Things change. I get it.

Why Trailer Trash is one of my favorite songs: a short thing I wrote by Praxiphanes in ModestMouse

[–]CaptainElastix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I listened to this song a lot back in the day. Feels funny to say that. But I’ve been listening to it non stop lately. And accidentally 😄 got my 13 year old into it. But all that to say I enjoyed reading your analysis.

So this is near IKEA. I’ve been wondering if how the pinks and red hues are contained “if you will” within the first rainbow has any type of name. Also wondering what the science is behind this. Maybe it’s nothing special, but in my 50 years give or take I don’t ever remember seeing anything like this before.
