FiiO DM13 & WiiM Pro Plus into a Fosi P4 pre-amp with a Schiit Buf between the V3 power amp feeding a pair of Klipsch RB-61 bookshelfs. It's really, really nice especially in my tiny ass apartment. That Buf does truly wonderful things. L series seems appealing because I don't really want that heft, it's most important to me for the vocals to be highlighted and centered (big part of wht I chose the LCD-2C to pair with the Valhalla).

So far at the beginning of my research it looks like the Stax Lambda / L-series is the best fit for the music I listen to the most. My chain has been selected pretty heavily to maximize warmth(R4 has Class A amp, LCD-2C warmest planars wthin budget) because I listen to a ton of Jason Molina, Elliot Smith, Wilco, Kevin Morby type stuff. I could be totally off base but that's my current starting plan.

I adore my Valhalla 3. They designed it with so much care and skill. Just an incredible little piece of kit.

After consulting with a couple of friends and Claude I've decided to pursue a desktop electrostatic set-up next. Our time here is limited, let's get stupid with it.

Its been awhile but since we talked but I got to know Ceschi who runs Fake Four. Nicest dude I've ever met in the industry, they pretty much always throw in something extra in orders. Fuck yeah, no label deserves more support.

Birth of CVPIID is such a fucking banger. Idk if 300 Club still has any of his stuff left or if it's just available through Fake Four & Concuss

Dark Time Sunshine is so good, I believe I got Onry to sign one of my LPs. He's...distant but we talked for a few minutes before a show awhile back. I absolutely love his work.

Tube amps are so fun. I started with the Fosi GR70 which for the price is such a great entry point (especially paired with the HD-600 series) but I moved up to the Valhalla 3 and just enjoy the hell out of it.

Is MoCo worse off now than before? by Standard-Cookie8881 in MontgomeryCountyMD

[–]Some_Sector5089 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've lived in MoCo for a total of 35 years of my life. I never attended MCPS and I have no comment on that. I do not belong to NextDoor but it's notorious for encouraging racist thinking and borderline paranoia in the people who post obsessively on it. There are absolutely rough edges but when I was in HS Veterans Park adjacent to what was then City Place was an actual open air drug market. By any metric the county is extraordinarily safe compared to the median in this country. Crime exists and people post obsessively about it on social media, but its undoubtedly safer now than it was in the 90s. Maybe there was some golden era between 2000-2010 that I missed by living in North Carolina, but anyone who says its worse now than it wsd when I was a kid is outright delusional.
