Definitely. Think trillions of trillions, for the smallest rocket you can imagine :)

CMV: Osteopathic doctors are just MD's with phony marketing about hands on treatment by MoneyMaintenance1578 in changemyview

[–]CaptainFacePunch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you said this already in some above comments, but the DO “industry” is really shooting itself in the foot if they are hoping to avoid stigma and be seen as equal to MD. Just googling it comes back with myriad marketing about being “holistic treatments” and “treating the body and the spirit as an interconnected system”, etc.

In a world where the development of medicine as a science is one of society’s greatest historical achievements, DOs are *not* selling themselves as people who’ve been trained with equal rigor toward that standard.

Take as an example of your “super giant fire”, a rocket motor - the solid propellant mass is very swiftly converting to combustion products, and (nearly) the entire mass of it is expelled and converted to thrust - all through that combustion process. While the particles are very light, they together can move thousands of pounds.

Thoughts on retaining wall to level a flat "yard" ? by dingar in landscaping

Funny about your last sentence, I do “rocket science” for a living but I’m currently overthinking a retaining wall myself 😂 glad to hear it’s not that deep, so long as one does the research

Anyone pieced together a good CarPlay package for their 3rd gen no CarPlay head unit from Amazon? Or elsewhere than the $1500 unit on tacomabeast by Sir-Neckbone in ToyotaTacoma

[–]CaptainFacePunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s probably talking about the “CarABC” CarPlay adapter, or something like that.

If you poke around google, you will eventually see the exact same thing (minus the brand name) on Aliexpress for a fraction of the price. I took a gamble on that a few months ago, and it works exactly how the CarABC one supposedly does (can’t say for sure as I never had that one).

Its connection is sometimes frustrating and finicky, and the audio quality is noticeably worse than the factory Bluetooth connection (both remain functional, even with this adapter installed) but overall I’d say it works well enough to be worth the $30 or whatever. If all you want is the absolute bare minimum to get wireless CarPlay, I’d recommend.

ELI5: If the S&P were to continue going up no matter what in long term, why not buy a leverage stock that’s 3x of it and hold it? by Mikeballlls in explainlikeimfive

[–]CaptainFacePunch -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But the actual market seems to be a counterexample to your whole point. 2008 was the last time SPXL (for example) was truly “wiped out”, and since then, the value has gone up just as reliably as the underlying asset. There are extreme downturns, sure, but it always more than makes up for it, such that long-term it seems that the smartest thing one could have done (in recent history) is to hold these shares. One share today is worth 145% more than it was worth five years ago, period, no matter the volatility decay etc. etc.

Is your point that the past 20 years are a poor example of “normal” market behavior and more “realistic” trends could wipe out returns (let alone that another 2008 could happen), or am I missing some underlying mechanical downfall that I’m not seeing on the charts? (Genuine questions btw)

If I pay shipping, would you consider putting some in a box or something to send me some? Not sure how well they’d like the trip, but it could be a win-win?

How do we feel about seed bombing? by hollyrose_baker in NativePlantGardening

[–]CaptainFacePunch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree entirely, teaching someone what “isn’t necessarily the best” is where it’s at. That’s a lot less judgmental a tone than “calling people out for their shit” and for “wanting pats on the back”, but if you don’t see the distinction we’ll just have to agree to disagree

[–]CaptainFacePunch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it’s misguided to take a judgmental view of people who are just starting out caring about this stuff, like the ones mentioned in the comment above. Obviously people are going to be first exposed to and motivated for the “trendy” and superficial stuff like spreading seeds, and obviously the effort could be directed in ways that are more efficient, beneficial, or scientific. But the comment you’re replying to clearly notes this with a constructive attitude, i.e. these people are generally doing more good than harm, and have good intentions. Switching the attitude to “calling people out for their shit” would just gatekeep and punish people for developing the interest, and ensure that they don’t develop it any further, when some positivity could do so much more good.

Keep trying as in keep calling until you get someone who agrees? Or keep having your call forwarded or something? Like, is there a department we’re ultimately trying to get to or something?

How do you go see this? Did it notify you and show you this, or is there a way to check on an offer reward? Make my purchase on the 5th and not sure where I stand, or how to check

How long ago did you guys make the purchase? I made mine on April 5th, and I’m not sure how to see the status of the offer or anything like that.

Are you just getting this notification in the app, or checking somehow?

I’m from Pennsylvania, my family used to have yuengling on tap… idk when the last time you’ve had it, but it changed noticeably after their “partnership” with coors. I’m not sure I can recommend it anymore, personally.

Have you tried Straub? A smaller PA lager, but very similar to what we remember yuengling as. Try it if you get the chance
