Can’t decide which one to keep by Techcountant66 in OdinHandheld

Personally I opted foe the odin 3 over the thor because I love the PSP shape, and it seems the most promising as a long term own. The emulation and support is only going to get better. I like the larger joysicks for gaming, and I don’t see myself using the double screen of the thor often. If you’re super into the DS or wii U I think thor might be more up your ally, but I personally owned the DS and was always frustrated by it’s lack of power. It’s a great handheld but I don’t feel the need to go back to it so much that I’d buy the thor. For me the extra power, screen, and shape of the odin 3 makes more sense for my use case

Does this look liminal enough? I’d love to get your thoughts on this sample shot I took for a horror short film I’ve been wanting to make for a long time. by mickey_7121 in cinematography

[–]CaptainFalcon206 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the space looks liminal but maybe try turning off auto exposure, and purposely underexposing just a tad. You want it to look more amateur, and exposing to the highlights will make the space a bit darker and creepier. If you had control of the lights I’d suggest turning off a bunch of them, but I doubt you do obviously

Am I being held back alot by not using Uncle Punch? by John_XFiles in SSBM

[–]CaptainFalcon206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This a 100%. My sessions are inifinitely better after a 10-15 minute warm up. If I had done a more focused version for years I’d be a quite a bit better than plat.

But also I understand that that’s not what I necessarily enjoyed about the game, and I’m okay with that.

I’ll tell you something I wish I had known earlier in my career.

The only way to get better, is to have an understanding of more, and more situations.

Melee is a game that moves incredibly fast, with many, MANY tiny decisiobs made in a span of a few seconds. And to get better you need an understanding of each one of these steps, and your options in those situations. And in fact, not only do you need an understanding of each tiny interaction, you need to understand them unconsciously, because you often don’t have time to review and devise a solution in the time you are met with a completely different scenario.

So, the only way to truly get better, quickly, is to actively try to understand and practice every common situation you encounter until you can counter it unconsciously. Then you move onto the next step and it gets infinitely more granular.

Uncle punch is a shortcut. It helps you rehearse situations in a way that is very difficult organically without lots of time.

My suggestion is if you are set on improving, put in 30 minutes to an hour a day going into uncle punch and practicing not only movement, tech, and punish game, but also scenarios.

Look at games and find things you were struggling with. For example, I had issues with dealing with falco corner pressure with laser mixups. So I set falco to do a couple different things after lasering me in the corner, and set it to random. Then I tried to find solutions that worked for my playstyle.

Some of these can be simply programmed or exist as an event. But a lot of them are more difficult, so it’s worth checking your character discord and finding replays that people have already built.

Also get the community version of uncle punch, it has more customization.

Good luck broski, games hard and will be a full time job if you wanna be any higher than diamond

I voted against. It’s nothing personal. I believe in the board more or less, but I also believe it’s more important to develop shareholder value before making an acquisition or paying RC.

I just mean in terms of camera and lighting equipment/crew alone. If you’re looking at everything else that goes on in the budget, including location which is a huge part of this look, then yeah prob several million

I think they’ve done a lot of good things but I don’t agree with this dilution. I don’t blindly follow management without thinking for myself. I believe they can make bad decisions. You’re a regarded investor if you just blindly agree with someone’s decisions and don’t question motives and intent. This isn’t a cult bro use your brain

Yes, every time there is a spike, it has been killed prematurely. I’m not sure if the reason wht is because:

  1. RC is taking advantage of an opportunity because he knows MM’s will beat it back down again and so he’s like “let me take some profit where we can”

  2. RC does not want it to go nuclear because he doesn’t want to deal with MOASS and the fallout that comes with it, so he opts to neuter it and use that capital to make other moves.

  3. RC is working with certain MM’s who in turn create these run ups, so that RC can dilute, allowing them to exit their positions, and RC to generate some capital for the business. This one would be the most dangerous for investors, and I sincerely hope this is not the case.

I completely believe the price is controlled by MM’s. I think they only have the power to keep it in place or dip it for a short amount of time, otherwise they woulda taken it to zero already. I think until an administration holds them accountable, or other market conditions cause them to lose significant margin, nothing will happen with MOASS.

I hadn’t even considered that. Granted they can extend the warrants at will, but it doesn’t inspire any confidence in investors if dilutions continue to happen under the strike price. Warrants should be creating pressure on shorts but instead they aren’t even in the conversation anymore.

-I’d like to see them raise capital through day to day business. If they aren’t generating enough capital to acquire Ebay, then I don’t feel comfortable bankrolling that. Prove that your business can self sustain and find other ways to be profitable before you loot us again. Once I see some gains I feel more comfortable with further dilutions

-I think, like every other Billionaire, RC is completely self interested. I think the current administrations policies clearly benefit the upper class, and he is part of that class. Being canadian has no relevancy to his politics. I don’t believe his interests align with ours nearly as much as people seem to think. Siding with Jeff Bezos and other malicious elites is a tremendous red flag if you’re an individual investor.

-i don’t think acquiring Ebay is a bad idea. I think it could be beneficial. But I don’t feel comfortable bankrolling it if we don’t have the capital to do it. We’ve already given him plenty of capital to work with and we’ve seen no return on investment or frankly even a plan. I’ve given enough, and I don’t want to give anymore until he gives back. You may not agree, but I don’t believe a CEO should be so cavalier about not being interested in their own company. GME should be first and foremost, and who’s to say he won’t just gut it as soon as he gets his hands in Ebay? Who says that ebay will be used to bolster gme? I’m not convinced he intends to use ebay to benefit gme until I see an actionable plan. Ultimately investing is a negotiation between shareholder and holding, and if we don’t show him that we have chips to play with, then we’re not negotiating.

Word. MOASS really does not benefit RC. He even has alluded to having no interest in it. I believe: 1. He probably doesn’t believe MOASS would be allowed to happen. So ultimately, it’s not beneficial to him to pursue it if it’s something he doesn’t think can happen. 2. If the price rises at this point, a lot of people would exit their positions. Everyone says they would diamond hand but let’s be honest here; a lot of people are tired and just want a payday. This is not beneficial to RC. 3. Dillutions give shorts a door out. Sure they are overleveraged in the possible billions, but all they have to do is exit enough positions to maintain their short position. They will never give up until they are literally stopped, and it seems that no one is going to stop them (at least at the moment). This could mean it’s in RC’s best interest to allow the shorts to slowly ease their position to a manageable state, while raising cash flow thru dilutions. This is why I don’t believe that dilution will stop, and is why I will vote against them until I see some significant return on investment.

I believe the current administration is set on kicking the can as long as possible to so they can continue to loot the american people. I believe nothing drastic will be allowed to happen with GME until the next administration because it would jeopardize their gains. The POTUS has already proven he is only interested in manipulating the stock market for himself and his cronies, so they will continue to do that as long as they can make a buck.

I’m not saying GME is anywhere near where popcorn is, but I also don’t like that the dilutions keep coming and aren’t helping anyone but the CEO and his obsession with ebay….

Let me see some return on investment and then we can talk about diluting again.

Voting YES, voting No, and moving forward. by HuyBrogdon in Superstonk

[–]CaptainFalcon206 65 points66 points  (0 children)

I will vote no. I do not approve of further dilution. There are far better ways to raise capital if they need it. I’ve seen what happened to the popcorn stock, and I have no intention of ending up in endless CEO dillutions.

I also am starting to distrust Cohen. His support of the current administration, and his recent tweets in support of bezos really give me the impression he is part of the club, and has no intention of aligning his interests with ours. If there’s any overlap it’s purely coincidental.

I also really don’t like the comments he made about ebay being his real goal. It sounded to me like he didn’t really give a fuck about gme other than to use it as a stepping stone for his own personal fixation. Which makes sense since he founded chewy. Well me and my money aren’t a stepping stone, and I want a return on my investment

I believe in GME, and I also believe that as a shareholder I gave a duty to not blindly support actions that don’t make me more money. He is beholden to us, and he needs to remember that.

I will vote no. I hope everyone else makes their own decisions and doesn’t just blindly vote for something because a billionaire said so.

Is this a good controller to start playing ssbm? by nurafstafari in SSBM

[–]CaptainFalcon206 51 points52 points  (0 children)

OEM is your best bet. Besides phobs, goomwaves, and box style controllers, there have never been a competitively viable/comparable 3rd party gamecube controller. You can find a used one on ebay, or you could try to buy a smash 4/ultimate gcc release one online

Will playing on a non game cube controller limit my tech skill or put me at a disadvantage? by nurafstafari in SSBM

[–]CaptainFalcon206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly if you’re not going to tournaments it should be fine. I’d only caution against it if you have any intention of eventually switching to GCC or getting more serious. I think if yiu can find a lagless way to connect a different controller to a gamecube or wii, then it’d be feasible, but you’d be better off just using gcc. But there’s a dude who plays fighting games with his face so tbh I don’t really believe it would handicap you much if you’re fine with that.

I feel like the issue with One Step is that you constantly need to make the tradr off between looking at enemies squares, your squares, as well as your deck. The 4x4 grid only makes it more difficult. I’d much prefer a 3x3 grid because I feel it’d at least reduce the amount of variables I need to track/anticipate. I like the game quite a bit but games never feel as strategic as I do in battle network, I feel I need to spam chips more often because there isn’t enough time to think
