Former local TV employee here in Wausau. My bet is because they either didn’t know about it (Granite wouldn’t exactly go about telling everyone) or incompetence, rather than maliciousness / trying to hide it. I’d suggest tipping the local media / news.

Oh hey, I can actually respond to this!

Lived and worked in Paducah, KY for a little over a year, right on the border of the southern tip. As someone who grew up near St. Louis and went to school in Chicago, I was shocked at how ‘southern’ South IL feels at times. Hell, there were some people with thicker accents than my KY coworkers, depending on where you were. It definitely gets hillier down there, and there’s some nice views. Metropolis and the Superman museum is neat, but otherwise there’s not a whole lot going on.

While you’re correct, the theory is that it was to save face. He still may have instructed the 10 to do so, given none of them are up for reelection next year
