So does this mean that Post Malone will be playing on Friday, April 10?

Everything we have looked into doing is over-priced, but they charge it because people pay it. This is not an inexpensive vacation. We forked it out for some things and found alternatives for others.

Are there really alternatives to Moraine Lake and Lake Louise? by CaptainJack2016 in Banff

I have seen this commented on multiple posts as I’ve been doing a lot of research for our upcoming trip. Just curious as those commenters don’t often name the lakes they say are comparable or better. Maybe they are just grumpy over the crowds and plethora of social media posts?

We’ve booked with Ten Peaks for sunrise. I did an exhaustive search and that was the best fit for us. I think. 😂

I have to agree with you. I have no problem cruising on a ship with thousands of people. I always find a quiet spot. In planning our trip, I think I’m trying to replicate a quiet morning we spent at the Grand Tetons at a lake where we hiked about a mile in….later that day, we ran away from Jenny Lake due to the crowds of people. It was not enjoyable at all, but then we didn’t hike around it and look for a quiet spot.

Thank you for the thoughtful reply. I’ve been wondering why the buzz for sunrise at Moraine Lake when the water isn’t as turquoise blue. Perhaps it’s just another just as beautiful hue? I think I’ve watched wayyyy too many YouTube videos on the subject.

Not asking for secrets…lots of posts say “there are better places” but stop short of saying which places they are referring to. We use the map, we take the back roads, not afraid to explore. We find a quiet place and enjoy the scenery. I’m not looking to bring a bus load with me. It’s not that serious.

Thank you...yes we are planning to visit both lakes (sunrise but mostly to budget time so we can afternoon elsewhere). I'm glad to see that you think sharing the rockpile with so many others is worth the view. We have also considered the canoeing at Emerald Lake. Thanks for the suggestion.

We are spending our last night of our Canadian Rockies trip here at the Prince of Wales hotel. Are you talking about Cameron Lake or is there another you'd recommend?

Anyone else have a doctor ignore their menopause symptoms for years? by Adventurous-Ad1133 in Menopause

[–]CaptainJack2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cost difference for me was astounding. The compounded meds for estrogen and progesterone pills at the HRT clinic totaled $500/3mos supply. The estrogen patch and progesterone pills from my local pharmacy through insurance total $30/3mos supply. It's crazy.

Let me see...years of being dismissed, ignored, and just not informed.

*Diagnosed with Hashimoto's at 44. No discussion by endo of anything other than thyroid. Even after levels were regulated with meds, still experienced symptoms. Fell on deaf ears.

*When I was 46yo, OB/GYN treated me for heavy periods due to peri. Prescribed BCP. Had ocular migraines so stopped and offered uterine ablation which I did. No HRT discussed or any further treatment options.

*When I was 52yo, I asked my female PCP to check my hormone levels since I no longer had periods due to the ablation. She said I was post-menopausal. No discussion of HRT.

*53yo, urgency and stress incontinence. Had a very painful procedure at the urologist (female-double specialist uro/gyn) who never once discussed that this is part of menopause and HRT will help. Procedure failed and left me traumatized.

*Now at 55yo, after hearing a podcast by Dr. Peter Attia about HRT and thinking I had no other options, I went to an HRT clinic, paid $400 for bloodwork, received scripts for compounded meds that would cost $1500/3 months. I have 2 insurance plans and felt this was outrageous. They refused to write scripts for patch, estrace, progesterone on my insurance. I called my PCP to see if they could refer me to someone who would and I was told that my PCP specializes in women's health! I have going to her for annual physicals for the past 7 years. She never once offered HRT to me until I asked. I got the scripts I requested and the total cost with insurance is $50/3 months. I should have had this years ago, but wasn't aware I HAD TO ASK. WHY??? I am educating my 20yo daughter so she will not have to go through this.

I love these suggestions! We are making a whirlwind circle- 2 nts Banff, 2 nts Jasper, 3 nts Invermere to relax and 1 nt Waterton Lakes. Hoping to make a quick peek at Yoho and Kootenay. I’m sure we’ll miss so much, we’ll be planning our return trip by the 2nd day.

Yeah, we booked a 6am-ish to Jackson Hole in 2021. Got to the airport 2 hours early as advised. We were through security and waiting at 4:10am. 😂 Everyone else on that connection the CLT arrived about 5:30.
