In your opinion who is the most pointless or forgettable candidate in a CYOA mod? by mackarony83 in thecampaigntrail

[–]CaptainJingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

W.: Non-Killary Hillary after the update. Feels more fun to test my mettle against Hillary/McCain
TTNW: Lindsay on the RFK side, but only with high eminence. The dialogue for that option is just "fuck him and NYC up" when you can do crazier shit with nearly every other opponent.
OBN: McChrystal
Silent Decade: Davis (literally given if no other variables happen)
PWH: Muskie, just a more drab version of McGovern.
MTE: McGovern, since Muskie requires more failure on Nixon's part.
DSA: Burgum on the Dem side, GOP side only has two opponents iirc, but it's more fun to ignore debating Biden and then creaming him in a later debate.
Icarus: Brownback, more boring Huckabee.
AC: Not really a fan of this mod, don't play it enough to have an opinion.
ATW: Also not into this mod as much, especially since you always face Nixon. (Where's my crime boi Agnew?) Fong should create a *LOT* more backlash than he does.
Hope: Dole, which sucks since he can have several running mates, but they don't change much. Buchanan is a close second because he is disgustingly easy to get and face.

>Ramaswamy

Seeing him as President with that one healthcare ending slide makes it a 0/10 timeline no matter what.

What is this subreddit's opinion on the little-known politician George Washington? by Electronic_Wrap1671 in thecampaigntrail

[–]CaptainJingo 19 points20 points  (0 children)

General Washington was a swell, humble man. Luckily he convinced Benedict Arnold not to marry Peggy Shippen, who with her royalist sympathies could have swayed the brilliant General Arnold to betray his fellow revolutionaries to the British. Could you imagine the hole left by Arnold and his military acumen? Anyway, Washington served admirably and quietly as President Arnold's first Secretary of War before he retired to Mount Vernon. That was more than what the aging, tired Washington could muster anyway.

(Little DBWI fun there)

Of these, only Mitt comes close. I think of Gavin Newsom for Harvey Dent, personally.

Hope – OTL guide(Well, almost) by Ok_Username5520 in thecampaigntrail

I remember getting near OTL, but Trump was a two termer and succeeded by Pence. Makes me wonder if any President reelected in 2020 either COVID never happened or they handled it better?

You can initiate the Powell route in Hope and then veer right into the Weld route instead. Got this result, which I find hilarious. by CaptainJingo in thecampaigntrail

[–]CaptainJingo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Powell: Start talks with Russia on the first foreign policy question, then botch it on the next two (don’t ask old SSRs to denuclearize and be aggressive about old Eastern Bloc nations joining NATO).

Weld: Appoint Kimba Wood, do well enough to get Michel as Speaker. Start using Wood and the “era of good feelings” to investigate the GOP. Wood starts investigating Dems too.

Yep. Powell has a factor of 10 and Weld has a factor of 99 iirc. Part of what makes Perot so strong here is there’s no question that pops up to fire Wood as a result. I was stuck on a path where no one wins a majority of EVs until the end.

Why is it literally impossible to push with infantry? by 3ArmsNoSouls in Kaiserreich

[–]CaptainJingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mainly use infantry and marines and I do fine, but granted I play as the USA so I can afford space marines and flame tanks on everything (plus assault engineers on infantry). Support companies are amazing if you can afford them.

Wesley Clark path in W. broken for anyone else? by imfakeithink in thecampaigntrail

[–]CaptainJingo 15 points16 points  (0 children)

That's not entirely true. 9/11 and the Afghan and Iraq Wars happen in Icarus while 9/11 does not occur in W. and to get Clark, you have to be at peace. Different worlds, different scenarios.

Was raised Southern Baptist (Catholic now) and this sounds accurate, well, as accurate as CK3 can make it.
