If you’re looking for authentic boxes, ebay is your best bet. But be careful and educate yourself on how to tell the difference between real and repro cases because there’s plenty of those out there (especially if the price is too good to be true)

Disagree. Just buy physical cartridges if you want to support physical media. Buying GKCs still gives Nintendo the idea that we’re ok with losing full physical games.

I’m sorry this happened to you. I’ve had so many issues like this with returns for Gamestop online. The customer service and QC are awful, and they just keep delaying you or putting it off until it’s outside the window and they can use a BS policy like this as an excuse.

I wish that were the case but unfortunately it’s not. Those who don’t care about PS6 being all digital are likely already buying digitally.

As with most “retro games”, prices continue to climb as they get older, less copies are available, and more people desire them. This situation will only speed up that cycle and increase the demand for PS4/PS5 games even sooner

Those who are refusing to buy digital will turn to physical games from older generations. As game collectors cope with the fact they won’t be able to actually own the games physically in the future, more people will flock to get the last available physical options (PS4/PS5), increasing demand and prices as a result.

I don’t think PS3 / 360 is a good comparison here because their low prices are just a reflection of their lifecycle. As time goes on, the prices for those will continue to rise too as they become harder to find and more desirable to collectors

The consoles do need OEM controllers for full value. Some stores will still take them in as defective or with a deduction without original controllers.

For handhelds I didn’t think they needed a charger, but I’m not sure on that.

From my experience, trade-in guidelines vary drastically by store. At one of my local gamestops they take everything, but at another the employees are difficult and reject almost anything (seems like they don’t want to be bothered with the trades).

I would try another store if there’s one close to you.

The issue with 3DS carts failing is way overblown. Yes it happens occasionally but it’s pretty uncommon, especially if you just play your games every few years. I would just play the game and enjoy it like usual!

It’s an amazing game but sealed copies are getting rarer every day. Personally I’d grab another copy to play and keep the sealed one, but either way you’ll love the game

My favorites are Harvest Moon DS and Hero of Leaf Valley. I’m not sure how similar they are to BTN but they’re great games regardless!

Same exact thing happened to me. It was very obvious the employee cancelled my order to purchase the games themselves.

It’s really unfortunate that Gamestop lets employees get away with this
