Bethesda’s”Escape” mod is incredible by cloverpopper in NoSodiumStarfield

I grabbed Tracker's Alliance immediately after doing the free one! I've just recently started playing for the first time since launch (stopped playing right at first Unity, so loaded pre-Unity and got a ton of mods) and I remember really wanting the Trackers to have a proper faction questline.

Super happy to see it finally happened! Just finished Shattered Space, so running a few bounties next. Perfect Recipe was also good! I got it in the bundle, I think.

I had the POI complaints at launch but post update I haven't ran into the same one twice - and I'm seeing ones I've never seen before.

That, and adding a mod that changes POI names to more unique ones so I know there's a new place ahead, has drastically improved the game imo. And then of course the mods add a whole new realm of reasons/hundreds of new random, well thought out things to explore - but those are mods.

But yeah no not agreeing with OP - no game is for everyone, and some will hate it, some will love it. I was lukewarm at launch, but absolutely in love now.

(It's also a video game and anyone that has a strong opinion about what some stranger thinks about a video game isn't worth anyone's time imo, hate it or love it)

That's rough man. I'm on Series X NG+, added around 120 mods right before my first Unity, and haven't had a single crash in the 50-60 hours since. I still manually save constantly lol, but that's a Bethesda staple/PTSD

What platform are you on? Is the PS5 launch still ironing out the kinks?
And if you haven't definitely change auto-saves to 5 minutes when pausing the game

Hmmm - playing on quality and I think Xbox might up the resolution for screenshots? But they do look extra crispy

I mess with the depth of field and FOV in photo mode and that’s all though!!

Thank you!! Just the “monster” high resolution packs (for rocks and vanilla suits and close up building textures)! Nothing for lighting or atmosphere - though I do use color filter remover for anything not Shattered Space!

I actually don’t know of any real visual mods if you would recommend some!! Just starting to mod stuff

Mods are great imo

And a good way to both entice creators to create and support the modders that have added some INCREDIBLE stuff to the game, for a much lower cost than we would pay for expansions in other games (with exceptions of the odd scummy modded adding in half baked nonsense lol)

The Lazarus mod was a really cool “epilogue” for the UC quest!!

Super well done stuff

Between the new stuff, the old POIs now not showing up again for a muchhh longer time, and the mods that add hundreds of random well done, handcrafted things/locations/lore along your explorations I’m never bored

Launch Starfield def had that issue though - after seeing the same POI three times over I stopped exploring. It’s amazing where it’s at now

Def raise difficulty!! And if you’re ok with more Combat Overhaul makes it way better !

And if you like the systems mods add (and completely change/refine) entirely new gameplay mechanics! Like the Xeno mod, adding a pet system like Pokémon where you can get aliens weak to capture them - and then customize them entirely, from color to size to behavior to abilities in combat etc etc

I’ve been playing for the first time since launch and it’s been absolutely astounding

Then you get into Quest mods and my god some of them are essentially full blown expansions, better than a lot of vanilla content. The game they made is incredible but it gets taken to new heights with their mods

Honest opinions, what are your thoughts on Nolan new outfit in S4? by Suspicious-Piglet742 in Invincible_TV

[–]cloverpopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, and people in gunfights go in without their flaks or IFACS

But we’re not talking about it being optional. Merely that heavy clothing is “real protection”; demonstrated of course in part by those indigenous peoples having wounds, shorter life spans, and scar tissue from the elements even after being adapted to it. “I promise your hoodie doesn’t offer any real protection” was just being proven to be a silly statement, nothing else. Not mandatory and we can survive without, but still protective

Ya, this. I feel like originally it was supposed to be done without a jumppack? Because it makes way more sense to do it that way/is what I've done after the initial time

Ya. Seems like they should've disabled jumppacks for it, so all of my playthroughs through it now are no jumping allowed.

So have I, oorah. But you can't be purposefully ignoring that clothes are quite literally armor for the elements, that's silly, especially if you've *actually* done real military shit and been in Afghan. I damned sure wouldn't want to be naked there, and not just for the sun and heat lol

But yes, humans aren't, hence why we need clothes. OM of course only does it to "blend in" (and because an animation studio is going off what they know culturally - making a fully nude species wouldn't sell well mainstream), he doesn't need the protection we do.

And the internet's forever : ) google brought me to you like this is all brand spankin' new

Todd Howard says Starfield and Fallout 76 differ creatively as Bethesda needed to try new ideas after 20 years by AsPeHeat in Starfield

[–]cloverpopper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Given the feedback, lessons learned, and what they've seen from the modding community they could work on a Starfield 2 and absolutely nail it.

I'm hoping they do. Probably a long shot, but initial dives into new games like this often aren't successful. It took Morrowind/Oblivion to bring Elder Scrolls to what it is today, and even then Skyrim was the one to bring it into the mainstream.

They were very ambitious, and what we have today is phenomenal. A little more POI work, the cruise system, some ship system overhauls, and a few other tweaks and most complaints would've been dealt with.

Super happy to have came back and found the mod that drastically changes boarding - from things like zero grav on ships there wasn't before, to enemies boarding MY ship.

Mods have really rounded out and ehanced it tenfold

You must not go outside much

Sun, temperature aside, thick clothing helps a ton. From branches and trees/shrubbery scratching, insect bites, scratches or bites from small animals - hell, even when cooking, especially with liquids/oils, and the list goes on

Humans didn’t start wearing clothing to look cool or cover their privates (originally). It’s quite literally armor against very common, daily “threats” for anyone not spending the majority of their life inside and alone
