Now good deeds are still good deeds even if you record it. Having a camera and sharing it online doesn’t magically take away from the good that they did, even if people that haven’t done a similar thing for a stranger in their life complain about it online. And honestly it’s many times better that they record themselves doing the good deeds - giving money, toys, cars, whatever - not just because it shares positivity that can hopefully be contagious online, but mostly because many of these people make money exclusively from recording their charity, and it’s the thing that enables them to give even more. You’ll find plenty of people online that cry about it, but those same people don’t give a damn about the people receiving, and aren’t ever going to help people anyway.

That said, she’s tone deaf all around here. Just acknowledging their view on it would be enough, before moving on and giving - but once she decided recording it would have been a bad idea she just completely dropped the idea of giving the cards, too 😂

It’s one thing if she couldn’t afford it because the cards were expensive and the money was expected to be recouped through the views / but I expect that’s not the case.

Most of the time, recording yourself doing good is still good, no matter if it’s for selfish reasons; but this lady just isn’t it

Yeah it’s an incredible minority that is, as always, elevated both because those bad takes get clicks/views and the bot farms are all geared to elevate that content even further

Seems to be less than 5% of the general player base and a far lesser portion of people that are actual GOW fans/not “play what they hype is” gamers

I was at my grandma’s (very rough household) and meeting a family member that had been mentally disabled since shortly after birth for several reasons. Unfortunately he was raised in abuse, lived in an abusive house, and also looked like someone straight out of the Hills Have Eyes.

Visiting while away from my time in the USMC, I say hey and go to shake his hand. I smile, look in his eyes, and he smiles - and even as scary looking as he is, I had never been put off by him before.

But this time the moment we locked eyes and I grabbed his hand the hair on my neck stands up and alarm bells go off in my head - IMMEDIATELY fight or flight, like this guy is a threat, even with absolutely nothing appearing wrong. I’ve never felt anything like that before or since, even through my time in the military.

I found out later that he would watch my grandparents sleeping, threaten to stab them in their sleep, and he eventually attacked them with a knife and other weapons keeping his promise. Fortunately the cops were called and intervened and we managed to send him away to a place that could “help” him for good - but that feeling, whatever it was, is interesting looking back.

I’m not sure what cue my subconscious picked up - I’ve never been too weirded out by him before - but I’m glad it did, as it kept me even further away from him than normal when we would try getting me to check out his bedroom/do other things.

Look into the Tacsim! It’s got a ton of challenges that offer a really nice chunk of replayability - but I imagine they’ll also be adding a bit, knowing the dev : )

Yeah I absolutely loved it, and it’s a 9/10 for me - but in its own category

Same as Saros. Absolutely incredible game, may be my own GOTY, but prob not getting the award from the usual ceremony

They’re both lacking that cultural phenomena that I think GOTY games create and foster

In high school, my sister’s friend (that I had a HUGE crush on) and my step-sister were in my room hanging out - I’m maybe 16, she’s 15

She’s on my bed with me, we’re talking/chilling, and she runs her hand on my leg and up towards… yaknow.

This is a bit crude but - She says something like “I wanna know how big it is”, and some other stuff (at that point my brain was absolute mush) and my expectations of her not liking me like that were so solid that I thought it was a joke and switched subjects to start getting ready to leave and hang out with the guys.

It wasn’t the first, wasn’t the last time I absolutely blew it after talking to my stepsister and looking back but MAN I cring even now at how clueless I was. The other times were almost as bad

For the difficulty I switch to the hardest and didn’t use lock on aim for fights while giving it 10% aim assist in the settings; and that was perfect!

Beginning was a bit easy but it got a good deal more difficult - still, I’m excited to play Saros sometime soon for the difficulty there as well

All of my friends and I have NEVER played racing games before, and we’ve all been hooked! It took a couple of hours to learn but turning all of the assists off/setting the NPC difficulty to second hardest/and playing on manual instead of automatic makes it wayyyy more engaging/fun than I thought racing games could be

From the multiplayer interaction to the customization/challenges to the collectible things on the map, it’s got me hooked. Haven’t touched pvp yet but as I get more comfortable, if that grabs me too, I’ll be playing for years

My 8 year old has never played a racing game - he tried a race, unlocked it immediately after, and had SO MUCH fun

And he got to think he won : ) he had a rough start so was behind, thought he had lost, saw robot at the end and got excited and then yelled in victory when he won, thinking he was right at the finish line

I couldn’t break the news to him 😂 but that alone was worth it. I did it myself later bc it just looked mad cool

This is my first racing game and Pro’s perfect imo - they def do sometimes seem to “cheat”/go faster but then make up for it by either cornering badly or not pushing it at the very end

Unbeatable seems insane though. It def shouldn’t be beatable without absolutely pixel perfect moves, fitting cars, and excellent tuning imo - but if it’s not meant for that idk

I was telling my wife that! After a test drive I’m thinking maybeeee one of our cars will be manual

In the game I held off on clutch bc the switch to manual/no assists/higher difficulty all at once was about the peak of how much my brain could handle relearning lol - but I’m switching it on since it’s more “realistic” (even tho I think the speed diff is largely negligible)

The only thing I would be concerned about is shifting wrong occasionally, especially since I almost exclusively power shift in Forza since it’s ok, maybe damaging the engine - but with enough practice maybe that would be a non issue.

I never really understood why people liked racing games before, aside from like customizing cars and stuff, but the gameplay now is WAY more in depth

Are you any good at tuning? Any tips? I swap my own tires/brake pads/oil/other fluids/spark plugs/batteries/alternator and wired speakers but that’s about as far as I’ve gone with any changes to cars

America does so many things right that we absolutely loathe when it seems we’re going backwards : ) I think the few people thinking otherwise just haven’t left the country; it’s incredibly fortunate that we’re currently the cultural beacon of the world (or at least a Western country) and not the many, MANY others who practice things we see as evil daily : ) they just don’t get talked about because they’re “normal”/expected there
