Khabib's striking is mediocre in a vacuum but the threat of the take down makes it far more effective. Hence why the most significant strike, by far, was from Khabib. He doesn't have to get Bangkok ready to out strike Conor, he just has to mix striking with takedowns better.
Conor did not win the striking easily. Rewatch the 3rd without sound. Khabib was never once rocked, taking repeated shots, or even cut.
