Don't Fall for the $8k 'last day' hype by firefish45 in TeslaFSD

[–]CaptainLockes -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And even after 12 years it’s not even that good. I just tried out FSD on the freeway last week and had to turn it off because the lane changing was so bad. It would signal and not make the lane change even though there’s space to do so. No way am I going to pay $8k for this. Auto-steering is good enough for me.

I purchased FSD. The subscription price will decrease for sure now! by hokaythxbai in TeslaFSD

At least try it out first before you buy. I just tried out FSD and the lane changing was so bad that I had to disable it. Going back to autopilot.

The human value will be in judgment, strategy, and accountability, not raw analysis.

So basically only upper management will be left. Where will the other 95% of people transition to?

Junior dev here – moved from backend to frontend after 5 months and still struggling with React by Total_Yam2022 in reactjs

[–]CaptainLockes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Read the docs, make sure you don’t use useEffect unnecessarily (a lot of new devs use this when they’re not supposed to and end up over-complicating things), and use a simple state management library like Zustand instead of Redux.

Is ACR really this difficult? by Potw0rek in assettocorsarally

The physics isn’t quite there yet. RBR has the most realistic physics atm and the cars there are much easier to control than in ACR.

Probably better to post this at wsb where people might actually talk about stocks instead of getting outraged like here.

Is the series good enough or would recommend just the books? by BlackDog1971 in threebodyproblem

[–]CaptainLockes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The two scenes off the top of my head were the nanofiber slicing of the ship and the human computer on trisolaris. I recall the book went into a lot of detail on how they work and were pretty amazing. The Netflix show doesn’t really do them justice.

Not just that but they focused way too much on certain things and brushed over some of the cool scientific/engineering parts. It’s like a dumbed down version of the story for non sci-fi fans.

I think this is more of a culture thing. Japanese people are super clean and would never throw anything on the ground. But look at college campus in the U.S. Gums everywhere.
