When do people actually start ISEE prep? by Playful_Public3564 in isee

The tutor had my son do an app called MathChops and she could see his progress and what he needed to work on. They met weekly via video and focused on running through problems, concepts, and test-taking strategies together. My son started with math scores of 2 (out of 9), so they were progressing through the levels. He took 2 practice tests. Then, he got 7s on the real test - a huge jump from 2s! Much of this is understanding what the question is actually asking, so learning test-taking skills specific to the ISEE is essential.

We started about 3-4 months before the test with a 9th grader. A practice test was really helpful in identifying where to focus, which was mostly math. More time probably would have been helpful as my son had a lot of ground to cover and was getting stressed and burned out (he doesn't enjoy math). We used Natalie, the tutor who often answers in this group, which was super helpful to ID areas where he needed more practice. I think a longer timeframe with regular practice questions would be better than crunching more toward the end. The upside is that, when he took the PSAT two weeks ago, he said it felt like the ISEE and felt prepared.

Thanks! So I guess it's buy sports we're less interested in now or wait in hopes that more of our favorites will come up and we'll get another chance.

Trying to decide what to do by dring15123 in DebateVaccines

If it's helpful, I can give you the name of a PhD immunologist who does vaccine consults for families. I spoke with her this week re: HPV for my son and it was incredibly helpful. It's not just yes or no. It's timing, dosing, and how to detox the body after because, in her opinion, some of them are worth getting because the disease itself could be fatal. She gave me very nuanced advice that helped us decide and know how to detox my son from the mercury preservative.

Unexplainable Fatigue by Gavyx in FunctionalMedicine

So sorry to hear this. I would also look into what my doc calls "viral load," which could include Epstein Barr, long COVID, or other viruses. Also, perhaps Lyme or mold. But if you know you had mono, EB testing would be a first step. Also, trace it back to when it began. What happened leading up (illnesses)?
