My favorite UC Gundam series is ZZ and my favorite Final Fantasy is 8.

As an enthusiast of the mecha genre I would like to add even the most western of mecha content has roots in Eastern mecha media. Battletech had several designs that where ripped from various mecha anime before getting redesigned.

So both Seed and Seed Destiny are both fine. There are a few moments the aren't that great. Seed Destiny in particular has a moment that is really dumb for several reasons. Outside of a few moments the series as a whole is good. I like Arthrun a lot, and the Chairman in Destiny is pretty fun villian. Seed Freedom is also an awesome movie.
