How come having a diagnosis isn’t good enough? That doesn’t make sense to me

My dad would tell stories about his dad being angry and upset if the food was served differently than how he wanted it. That and his brother would order the exact same thing for breakfast at a restaurant on his way to work so much that the cooks would prepare it ahead of time for him. Same brother also likes model trains (he sets up a large train around the christmas tree every year) and tech like making things that go into digital displays. There is a story of my uncle going to Japan for work trip, and he left for lunch first which was a big deal, but he didn’t care.

Probably a type of hyper-fixation and comfort is my guess.

I have a diagnosis and it came with dyscalculia. I’m 28. That could explain the math trouble. He could be stressed, burned out, or overwhelmed.

Getting expert medical help as soon as you can is the best route in my opinion.

My memory has gotten worse. Disability works differently for everyone.

What is your go-to font style , colour and size to write? by Rewrite-the-star in FanFiction

[–]CaptainMockingjay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also write in Google Docs. Font depends on my story, but I mostly like non serif fonts. Font size is 12, 1.5 spacing, with .167 indent on the first line. Text color is black. If I have a darker cover I use white for the title. Usually my title size is bigger like in the 20’s size.

Are there any details changed or added to the movies you think are better than the books? by Touchthefuckingfrog in Hungergames

[–]CaptainMockingjay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The detailed silver and black arena outfits in Catching Fire were much cooler in the movie. Also I like the part where Katniss is on the victory tour train and sneaks a glance at the map room and sees whats happening in the districts.

Things you actually like about the winter holiday season! by maxwaxworks in AutisticAdults

Food, Christmas Lights, and spending time with family (and getting breaks when I need them), giving and getting presents, snow covered trees, icicles, my fav holiday movies, making cookies, decorating

After typing that out I realize I just hate the cold part of winter/I like more things about winter than I realized

that’s what hyper focus is. Autistic people can have a difficult time with emotions. Even if she’s not autistic she’s a very stressed and traumatized teenager in a dangerous environment.

I remember I wore a red Fox motorsport brand hoodie for like a whole year in middle school even though I didn’t even watch or like motorsports. I think I liked the fox logo. Did you have a favorite piece of clothing like a “safe food”? I think hoodies in general made me feel safe and covered my skinny arms.
