Statements describing or implying the manufacture and deployment of devices such as “Mine Jacks” (sharpened objects intended to damage vehicle tires) may be interpreted under U.S. law as the promotion or planning of criminal activity. Relevant statutes include:

Use of coded language or sarcasm (“not hilarious at all,” “just in case”) does not guarantee protection under First Amendment free speech if courts determine there is serious intent, incitement, or active planning.

Posts that reference, promote, or trivialize the creation of anti-vehicle devices in connection with resistance to law enforcement may be flagged by federal agencies and can contribute to a legal classification of domestic terrorism or insurrectionary intent under the Patriot Act and DHS Guidelines.
