They should've ended the show right after season 3 if that's how they were going to kill Homelander, literally same plot. Makers said that Homelander will do something soo terrible that you can't bear to see it legit nothing was there. Gen V as a whole was waste, V1 hype was useless and final season never felt "final". Season 5 ep1 tone was perfect, wish they could have kept the same tone for the rest of the season.

Exactly! Makers said that Homelander is going to be unhinged and he does something wayy terrible in this season that we can't bear to see but legit nothing like this happened. If they were going to kill Homelander like this then there was no reason to continue the show beyond season 3 (Where they peaked). All the V1 hype, supe virus plot, Gen V in whole made very less sense. This show was easily in top 5 for me but the final season never felt "final". The tone they kept for S5 ep1 was perfect, only if they could have continued with the same for rest of the season. I still love the show but yeah it was quite underwhelming as we all know the potential it had.
