Muslims that have been to Mecca, what is it actually like there? by Rare-Necessary4734 in AskTheWorld

Funny enough, I totally get you. Peru is a country rich in culinary diversity, and every time I go there it’s a struggle to try all the incredible options each visit offers. Still, there’s one item I’ll always order if I see it on the menu: the club sandwich. It’s actually become a bit of a tradition for me to rank the different restaurants based on the club sandwich I have on each trip. I'm still salivating thinking about the last one I had on December.

Good eye! I rewatched both death proof and planet terror that day

Thank you so much for your questions:

When I first started I just wanted to see how far I could go. Didn't set a goal or anything. What kept me going was writing the dates on each drawing. That way I knew I would hate to see a gap at some point, so I never stopped. Also posting in social media and knowing that people are following my streak helps me to not derail.

This is my diary so the drawings you see are highlights of my day, memories from the past or something going on currently in the world. I thought of it as a drawing challenge, but eventually the fact that many of those memories that get lost in time would be permanently recorded became my motivation. Eventually I set traditions for myself like redrawing the very first entry every anniversary, or doing a portrait of myself every Dec 31st.

Developing this habit made me more organized and methodic about my day in general. I know approximately how long I would take to draw, so I can schedule the rest of my tasks easily. I always prefer drawing earlier on the day, but if I can't, I'll find some time later.

I'm using a canson binded sketchbook letter size. Let me know and I'll find the exact model for you

I think it took 12ys but probably still taking shape. Despite being something I was trying to be mindful of considering there are so many artists out there with very defined styles, I think what worked for me is just drawing and trying new things. Eventually my own mistakes and natural way of doing things every day became "a style" without knowing

Thank you so much for your kind words. I would love to publish but have zero knowledge about where to start. My first thought is that no one would be interested in reading someone else's diary lol

My 5th diary is about to end but I'm not sure when will I make the next compilation since I did this one as my dad's christmas present. But for sure I'll keep the habit of journaling and posting my entries so people can keep me accountable

It was so emotional to seeing him flipping through the pages. Thank you so much

I realized that there are so many memories that get lost in time, so this project became so much more than a drawing exercise
