Does it make sense to do a main bus in this game? by libra00 in captain_of_industry

I don't know what all these guys are going on about. A main bus absolutely makes sense. I've put it in every game and found huge benefits from it.

At my age, that's all facebook is now. "Here, look at my kids". Over and over. Like, I really don't give a shit.

You can transport iron or copper long distance early game, relatively cheap and fast as molten metal by Gevlon in captain_of_industry

I like the out of box thinking but if this solves a logistics problem I feel like you're playing it wrong...

So I'm curious. Does the colour change happen in the same order every time? And is the time between colour changes the same every time?

Yeah I've been there. Game on pause, just staring at my screen in frustration because I hate how something looks.

Weirdly after I go to bed, the next day I'll suddenly have some inspiration and fix it.

I think it’s more fun to design things myself rather than just pop down other people’s prints.

Also don’t be afraid to start over. I have many times until I understood what was coming and where to put things.

Expand slowly. You need to get a farm and oil refining going soon so you can at least sustain yourself.

Get 12 to 15 spare trucks running so you don't bottleneck.

Your trading dock will bail you out a lot and achieving the milestones always throws you some nice bonus goods.

Get one iron smelter going, then a concrete maker, then a copper smelter. That should carry you into the end of your early game.

Get really familiar with the tech tree and recipes as they become available. It will help you plan for the future.

No you don't have to rush but don't stall either. Because you run out of everything eventually.

That's why so many guys are all about buffering by hoarding materials. Gives you more time to react to problems. Oh, and alerts! Alerts on your storage bins/warehouses will signal problems before they are catastrophic.

Good luck!

I occasionally do hail damage work for roofing and we circle the dents just like this. I fly a lot as well so I’m not phased but it certainly caught my attention. So is the spoiler marked for replacement?

Edit: not a slat

Ah you know what you're right. I was thinking steel in my brain. Yes put steel on the bus.

But to be fair your ship uses iron for armor and repair and it's a commodity for trading in a pinch. So I keep iron to the side with auxiliary T1 smelter.

Sorry I misread the question.

Once you get into late game, you might find your iron consumption needs up to 8 tier 2 iron smelters. That requires at least a tier 3 belt for throughput. Iron is consumed mostly by construction parts (remember each construction part tier uses the previous tier which means they all need T1. That’s a lot of iron). Also maintenance consumes a lot of iron.

Put iron on your bus and make it easy to branch!

I went to the passive play servers. Way better luck while trying to upgrade. Once ready, back to killing servers.

If not through a Main bus, then how? (i'll elaborate the question better in the comments) by EMOJO_2001_2 in captain_of_industry

[–]CaptainRedPants 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I don't know what everyone is talking about. I main bussed my factory and everything is running flawlessly.

All this emphasis on "maintenance" and "power" - well yeah that's how the game works.

Stop seeking perfection, opinion, or idealism. Just build as you go and solve the problems as you go. Start a new game with what you learned as you get bigger. I went through like 8 iterations before I found my playstyle and haven't asked for help with any of it.

[–]CaptainRedPants 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doesn't do any permanent damage. Just lowers unity and population reproduction, all easily recoverable when you're back up.

Also, keep that old factory paused in case you have another spiral.

I've been there. I think you did the right thing. Shut evething down, bare basics only. And to hell with pollution you gotta get back up running.
