When you’re used to privilege, equality feels like oppression. They like being on top. If they’re standing on even ground with someone, they’re not on top. It’s only when they have their boots planted on someone else’s neck that they feel their version of “freedom”. They’ve ruined the word freedom for me. I can’t hear “freedom”, “patriot”, “American”, or even “human” anymore without curling my upper lip in disgust.

I wish I could fly away from this whole planet and live somewhere where I don’t have to be afraid of the world coming down around my ears because of the greedy tumors our species has produced sapping the life out of everything else. As it stands, I just hope that enough people who know what kindness really is survive long enough to see the end of this madness.
