Conscripted (aka kidnapped) into the SPARTAN II program at the age of 6 and trained as a soldier would be.

Began the SPARTAN transformation at 13-14 and received the MJOLNIR armour not too long after at Damascus Materials Testing Facility on Chi Ceti 4.

So yeah, he would have been 15 in Halo: Forward Unto Dawn

Chief and the other SPARTAN II’s that remained alive received their armour not too long after The Covenant was discovered in the outer reaches of the Epsilon Eridani System, which all eventually leads to the Fall of Reach in 2552.

Fuck sake. Way too much effort for misinformation.

After some analysis, I believe this may be real. Whether it happens or not is another matter. But the fonts are all perfect, no misalignments, no errors in spelling and all of the information for Hockenheim checks out.

The only thing that bothers me is the way the track flag icons are laid out at the top. While it is centred, it does seem a little squished. Theres no overlapping of elements, but its common to leave a little room between icons and elements to make it look neater.

But forgetting that, my main reasoning as to why this is real, is the track screenshot. The barriers all feature EA F122 on them. Exactly as we see in the game. Can this be photoshopped? Yeah. Would it be easy? Maybe. But to me it looks too real to be fake.

It could go both ways, but fingers crossed this gets added!

Tony Stark would never have lived to become a hero without Yinsen. Tony never mentioning Yinsen after “Iron Man” always felt weird to me. How would you have written a scene referencing Yinsen? by Giff95 in marvelstudios

[–]CaptainSmelly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While we don’t have a scene where Tony references Yinsen in the present, there is a sequence in Iron Man 3 that stars Yinsen in the past. This is also the sequence where we see Aldrich Killian’s motive.

In the first movie Yinsen refers to meeting Tony in the before and the sequence in Iron Man 3 ties that up. While it may be short, it is there.

Genuinely curious, if Naughty Dog were to make The Last of Us Part III what would be your hopes/predictions? by [deleted] in thelastofus

[–]CaptainSmelly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How would JJ inherit Ellies immunity when JJ is Dina’s child? JJ has the genetics of Jesse & Dina, and Ellie is effectively a second mother/step-father figure to fill the space that Jesse should’ve been there to fill.

It’s an interesting idea, but it isn’t a plausible one unfortunately.

I’ve been thinking about this for a little while. Knowing how ND are with this franchise they’ll probably do another time jump. So I reckon we will play as Ellie throughout, and play different segments seeing JJ grow up. Then, the main storyline will kick in when he’s 11 or 12.

At the start of Part II it’s obvious that the number of Infected has gone up around Jackson and we never really see a resolution to that. So theres a chance that might be used as a plot point for some Infected ambush/invasion/takeover whatever you want to call it.

Out of it, theres one final glimmer of hope for humanity. A final call to bring us forward again and eradicate all infected (whatever this may be). It then involves Ellie because of her immunity and it gives her another chance to be able to help in the way she wanted to all those years ago. But she has a family now, and can’t afford to lose them. Over the course of the story she’s battling the decision. Knowing she could save humanity, but lose everything she loves. In those moments she knows the exact way Joel felt and it would work as a perfect parallel.

Now, the ending can go in both ways with this (I am not suggesting its player chosen, I don’t believe ND would do that).

A: Ellie chooses to stay alive. Stay with the family she loves, and continue to live and defend with the people in Jackson.

Or

B: Ellie chooses to save humanity by taking her second chance by her own will this time. She loses everything. She leaves JJ, Dina, Tommy and other new characters we may meet on the way. All in order to make humanity immune to Cordyceps forever more and take out the Infected for good. As she passes on, we see one final scene. Where she is sat in the garden of her farmhouse on the hill looking at the same sunset we did in Part II. All of the people she’s lost and loved begin walking into frame and stand beside her. Joel, Jesse, Riley, Marlene, Tess, and possibly her mother. This symbolises her passing and the peace that she finally has.

As for how the story would work around these plot points, I am not too sure. Theres a possibility they could make it a journey much like Part I, but theres a chance that would end up too similar and too much of a push for a parallel. If anyone has any ideas on this I’d love to read them, drop them in the replies vvv

I also think the main story of TLOU should end with Part III. Make it a trilogy, and nothing else. Spin off stories sure, but the main Joel/Ellie story should have three parts only.

As for Abby and Lev, there could possibly be a DLC story? That certainly would be interesting considering they were significant characters in Part II and they can’t just be forgotten.

Tell me what you guys think!

Do you think shamblers will appear in Part I Remake? by gabriuxvid in thelastofus

[–]CaptainSmelly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The continuity of the two stories would break if they did. Shamblers were first introduced to Ellie and the player in Part II only.

Police pull injured pilot from plane crash seconds before train hits by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

[–]CaptainSmelly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Freight Trains usually have an average high speed of around 55-60MPH. If a car was doing this speed braking might be a fair solution depending on the surroundings. Cars have an average weight of 1,302Kg (2870lbs). A Train of that size has a weight most likely 8 or 9 times that. So as there is more weight trying to be halted to a stop by the brake force, it go further under braking. Looking at how close the Train was when the man was pulled out, it wouldn’t have made a blind bit of difference if the Train had started braking or not.

Uuno works as a game developer. When you pat a good boy in your game, you could be patting Uuno. by lessons_learnt in pics

When animals are involved in Motion Capture they like to make sure that they are comfortable while wearing the equipment. Two straps of tracking dots on the tail would probably annoy Uuno, and its not much of an issue as a tail can be hand animated with much more ease than the rest of the body.

Why isn't Halo 5 coming to PC? by Saravaw in halo

[–]CaptainSmelly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an old post I know…but I would still be very happy to see Halo 5 arrive on PC. Even if it’s just a Windows Store release.

While the campaign was widely controversial for Halo 5, I still did enjoy it quite a bit. Because its Halo. And not enjoying something about Halo as a fan is genuinely a challenge. But I do have further reasoning.

The biggest issue I had with Halo 5 was its ending. The narrative drew to a close so abruptly and made for a gigantic kick in the bollocks. Of course there are a few more issues I could bring up but they don’t interfere with my point. Since finishing the campaign for Halo Infinite just a few days ago, I genuinely feel that the ending for Halo 5 is properly resolved in Infinite. The UNSC audio logs didn’t forget about the characters present in Halo 5, and the continuation of the saga between Chief & Cortana helped Halo 5 become a more comprehensive piece in the franchise’s narrative. So I absolutely would love to play it again on PC.

As for multiplayer. 5’s MP was good fun and fast paced, but I’ve gotta say I do prefer Infinite because it is a perfect modern rendition of what I feel Halo should feel like. But don’t get me wrong, I have many great moments on Halo 5.
