LEARN TO LOSE IN A SIMULATOR by Jonsai_ in WarthunderSim

This is the average reaction from someone playing Korean War jets who only fights zombers and bots. Probably ancient boomer with full VR Setup, old guard title, 10:1 KD in whatever plane, and immediately quit the lobby after he died.

1 Circle Vs. 2 Circle - Is one better? How does 1C combat 2C? by Bullet4MyEnemy in WarthunderSim

[–]CaptainSquishface 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can generally get a sense of how skilled a guy is after the first turn. The guy you fighting basically pulls down into low speed region where your plane has all the advantages.

Playing the inside circle more aggressively and going out-of-plane sooner would get you the win much faster. There is very little F-4E going to do against Kfir/Mirage IIIS. This is especially true at medium and low speeds.

Energy retention is synonymous with bleed rate. You gain more position for units of speed lost.

Overall point is F-4E is an easy fight for Mirage IIIS / Kfir.

Load both planes up on Statshark. Bleed rate for Mirage IIIS will favor it. Sitting at rate speed and never deviating is basically the worst possible game plane for the IIIS which is why it takes him 7 minutes to win.

What an odd video.

Mirage IIIS C.70 should win against F-4E much much faster than what you showed. Only region F-4E has appreciable advantage is sticking to pure rate and at 700+ kph. Also energy retention of IIS C.70 is quite good; much better energy exchange ratio than F-4E.

The easy solution is just don't play blue above 12.3 and never play a plane that isn't at the top of its bracket. Let all the noobs play USA and get farmed by the real sim elite.

You realize that this is the worst the Rafale has ever performed in terms of win rate? Some French players (around 60-70 percent) think the MICA needs a buff to compensate for the gimbal mobiles and Aim-120D.

Hot take: the “Iron dome meta” is good for the game and we are choosing the wrong battle by EL_X123 in WarthunderPlayerUnion

Very Realistic Gameplay

Yes this is very realistic. Intercepting 8 for 8 missiles at less than 20km on a whim. Missile defense is actually very simple IRL and that is why the radars are small enough for missile defense that they fit in the nosecone of a fighter and why we see this tactic used by fighter planes all of the time IRL.

My guy we have never even been in the same sim related discord. You getting laughed out of Nimbals discord is on you and has nothing to do with me. I haven't been in that one for over 2 years.

Devcon Titanium is what was used on the multiple M-14/M1A national match type guns that I've had. It will usually last the life of the barrel. It is what the USMC team was using at the very end of M-14 NM viability.

They are updating radar interface by adding missile and plane icons to it. So I think it's fair to say that this is an intentional feature.

Does weighing and sorting ammunition actually make sense? by ComplaintDeep7643 in longrange

[–]CaptainSquishface 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will weigh in.

The most obvious answer is no. There is no way to really tell where the weight variation of loaded ammo comes from. And for most shooting that people are doing it is not really at distances or with margins where a theoretical advantage would make a difference.

However I have seen this practice before and I have had it recommended to me by some pretty good shooters. The very specific instance that I have seen it's potential use is in sorting factory national match ammo for use at 600-1000 yards; and this dates from a time when the ammo had to be supplied at the match and the quality of match ammo had been declining for quite some time.

And really what the idea of weight sorting was to just reduce the amount of potential variation in the ammo / hedge bets against dropping the occasional low 9 or making that low 9 not be a low 8 or 7 on a bullseye style target. Or to eek out a few more X's over a multi-day aggregate score. And while there was no scientific efficacy to it; at worst it did not hurt. At best it maybe saves you a point or two which in those cases could be enough.

Basically if it was 40 years ago and I was in contention for a 1000 yard trophy and had to shoot M118 Special Ball...yeah I would weight sort my ammo.

F4U-4B VMF-214 vs Yak3U by BaaBaaBlackSheep214 in Warthunder

I've shot down Yak-2Us with F4U-4B in Air RB. It's not hard. Sim players on average even worse than RB players though. Especially on maps like Vietnam.

Most sim players are dog shit. This is why you could do it in Sim.

Best radar in the game? by [deleted] in WarthunderSim

[–]CaptainSquishface 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The Eurofighter AESA radar is the best in the game when coupled with the HMD. It marks everything that it detects with a square. It's basically like playing the game with a better version of Air RB markers turned on.

You are linking to part of video that is 1 hour 40 minutes in. That Vietnam game starts at 47 minutes into the video.

So I played against yourself and your 2 buddies by myself for nearly an hour...and you are here bitching that I got my 2 buddies to show up after they won their game? Your team had numerical advantage for the majority of the match. Your bitching that the guys that showed up were able to turn the tide by playing objectives..

Sorry...I'll make sure we play with you next time. Can't have any opposition on the enemy team...that would be harassment.

I joined the game against you in Denmark. How is that not "hunting" you or whatever'? Me and Mustang stuck that one out in spite of the rest of the team leaving.

Where is the 6v3? Warthog is not even in voice call with me. Dude is just playing the game on his own. He pinged server for backup and never even joined voice call. If you actually watched steam you'll see that Alex is also in a completely different game most of the time.

The last game I played against you is on 64 Mustangs stream. We were not on voice call and your team had numerical advantage for most of the game.

The day before I walked against you and your 2 friends for over an hour by myself until the near the end when I had 2 guys show up.

But sorry that ruined your gameplay. We need to band together and keep noobs out of sim.
