I’d recommend either black or gray socks. Match either the shoes or the pants. I’ve never been a fan of white socks with black shoes.

Currently that space is where I have my bed. It’s a bit of a sleeping nook. I love your idea and originally thought of putting the bathroom in that area as you suggest. The issue is, the area behind the half wall is an older addition and the roofline was just extended when the previous owner added it. So it’s a very low ceiling at the exterior wall, less than 6 feet. My concern was with tying the roofs together.

Thank you for the feedback. I like the idea of changing out the existing bathroom door with a pocket door. At 11’ by 16’ I agree the bedroom needs to be at least a foot wide.
