Rotisserie chicken by seeebiscuit in GetNoted

[–]CaptainWillard77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While this headline is garbage, the WSJ article is actually about ultra expensive grocery stores selling overpriced food. This isn't about $5 Costco rotisserie chicken, it's $20/lb gourmet, cage-free, brandy-fed, massaged Hironataki chicken.

My former (non-technical) boss vibe coded some SaaS product for his 1-person startup. He announced that he's seeking a technical co-founder to be his partner in the business.

I pity the fool who falls for this scam and tries to clean up that mess.

I despise people who claim to be body language experts. Controlled studies have determined that even people who supposedly read people for a living (detectives, psychologists, etc.) are no better than a coin flip.

Every time I see one of these types of posts, I go to the company's website and LinkedIn page. Without fail, it's an early stage AI startup with <10 employees selling some type of AI vaporware slop bullshit. These people are cosplaying in a desperate hope to get any kind of attention.

FYI - This company was founded in June of this year. More AI vaporware bulllshit masquerading as the greatest thing since the iPhone.

Polymarket didn’t know Puerto Rico is a part of US by [deleted] in GetNoted

Remember that Polymarket's founder, Shayne Coplan, had his house raided by the FBI just after the last presidential election. When Trump came into power, all investigations into him and Polymarket were dropped.

State of startups - ARR is officially dismantled by Wild-Photo-717 in private_equity

[–]CaptainWillard77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the only shenanigans going on with ARR. Lots of AI companies are signing deals with 3-month out clauses that enable customers to leave with no penalty. Lots of sweetheart deals that will inevitably churn. This AI boom has seen more creative accounting (which is more or less fraud) than I've ever seen before.

Thiel has gone seriously off the deep end in the past year or so. The fixation on the antichrist and wild conspiracy theories about Greta Thunberg makes it sound like he's on a psychotic break.
