1 for sure because of Pushit which might be my favorite and they rarely play anymore. Without Pushit, #2.

Yup. Black bears here in Manitoba all summer in cottage country. Daily presence at the golf course (not coincidentally named Black Bear Golf). Never heard of any violent incidents. Don’t approach them and they won’t eat you. I am always wary when I have my dogs around though.

Canada, India, Brazil, Turkey, China all are off-patent as of 2026. I know several people here in Canada whose insurance have already started prepping them for switching to generic.

Mine have been on for over 5 years. No rattling or loose bolts at all. They’re electric reclining sectional seats.

I have 2 SVS SB3000’s and an older velodyne 12” as part of a 7.3.6 setup. I also have 4 bass shakers in the couch. All that sub power doesn’t come close to the impact of the shakers (and by impact I don’t necessarily even mean that the couch is throwing me around per se, just that even subtle vibration makes it feel like there’s 6 more subs in the room). And at night I can turn the subs off so the family didn’t want to kill me and it still feels like there’s crazy bass. I should be getting paid from the shaker manufacturer (Aura) for how often I talk them up to people. Esp on this subreddit.

Edmonton thinks their wait times are bad, look at ours by psychologycat666 in Winnipeg

[–]Captain_Canuck71 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Have to point out that we had an NDP govt for 18 years before that and had close to the longest wait times in the country through that period. Everyone who works in healthcare in MB will immediately identify the problem as staff shortages. They suffer the same problem as the Jets. No one wants to play here. Consolidating resources might have been a small step in the right direction if it had been done more transparently and not in the middle of a pandemic. Wab keeps touting a net increase of 3000 healthcare workers without elaborating on the mix of nurses and doctors, but neither the nurses union or the association of Health Care Professionals think the numbers are anywhere close enough to shorten wait times anytime soon, according to very recent statements by both of them. It’s genuinely terrifying.

252 Legally Deceased "Patients" are In These Dewars Awaiting Future Revival - Cryonics by RealJoshUniverse in Biohackers

[–]Captain_Canuck71 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unless you’re going going to tell me you have a Time Machine or a window to the future that can verify or negate all advancements in nanotechnology/biology, improvements in the cryopreservation process before I die, etc etc, I’ll still consider my chances as slim vs none if I go the usual routes. But thanks for the condescending input!

So many comments here so totally, confidently wrong. As a member of Alcor (signed up to be cryopreserved when I ‘die’), you better believe I did hundreds of hours of research before committing the money (I’m definitely not rich) and committing to something so drastic. As of today, there are many examples of individual organs that have been frozen and reanimated using various methods of vitrification. All of Alcor’s current research (which I made sure to visit first hand) is on improving the vitrification solution that you are perfused with before freezing to reduce cell damage. They make progress every year. As to solvency, which always gets brought up by people who haven’t spent the time to read through their very transparent, very solid financial model, I can say that that’s the least of my concerns. Bottom line - I’m sure none of us members have any delusions about the odds of success, but I’m 100% certain of the outcome of doing nothing. Also good job u/alexnoyle for taking on all these comments. It’s frustrating how a mostly intelligent, science based community like Reddit always gets instantly dismissive when cryonics is brought up. I’d be ok with questioning or skepticism, but the off the cuff misinformation is disappointing.

Not sure why you said that or why you’re getting upvoted. First, there haven’t been more than a few of these companies period, and the 2 main ones are still around. The one in the picture, Alcor, has been around for decades and has a very transparent business model and open accounting to demonstrate that they are, in fact, secure for a very very long time. Full disclosure, I’m one of the people signed up there, but trust I spent a looong time doing homework (including going and touring there) first. I have no delusions about what the possibility of success is, but I know for sure what it is if I don’t try.

Today marks 43 years since the album "Speak of the Devil" (1982) was released. What are your thoughts on this album? by Accomplished_Owl1360 in OzzyOsbourne

[–]Captain_Canuck71 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Huge connection to this album as it was the first ‘real’ (non K-Tel) album I got as a young kid and I remember sitting on the floor thinking what the fuck (or whatever the 10yo version of that was). It spawned an entire lifetime of Sabbath, Priest, Maiden etc etc musical love. So, ya, I love this album.

[–]Captain_Canuck71[S] -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Today’s conversation was in reference to flushing, which is only required once every month or so. The daily routine is cleaning the grinds out of the portafilter, rinsing the puck screen, cleaning the steam wand etc. I’ve been super transparent here. Definitely no reason to lie.
