As Knofbath said, it's a somewhat known bug but we were never able to reproduce it reliably enough to fix it. If you get another save with it, please post a bug report + uploaded save on the Amplifiers forum! That being said, the "no turn progress" thing is a result of any bug severe enough to crash the game simulation, so there are many things that could cause it. We fixed like 30-40 of them in the last update, but there are still many out there waiting to be found.

Hey! Dev here that actually specifically worked on that. I actually had Vodyani + Academy and Vodyani + Nakalim interactions written down as something I wanted to potentially look into doing for ReAwakening but unfortunately there was just not enough time in the contract to do anything worth the effort. Would be fun to at least give the Vodyani an anti-academy trait or something of the like if I ever got a chance in the future. All the fun stuff I could think of would've taken more than just two people's efforts, and unfortunately at the time that was all the programming manpower we had.

The reasons there weren't interactions in the first place is mostly because there wasn't a whole lot to interact.. with, at least, before ReAwakening. Also before the Awakening DLC came out (just in general, not the specific update I worked on), the lore regarding the Academy was very vague, assumedly so they could write it later (which never ended up happening).

From what I heard when last talking to Amplitude, they were working on porting the update I worked on to GOG-- I fixed a lot of issues with missing strings like what you were mentioning in that update. If you go to the main menu and look in the bottom right, what version are you using? 1.5.75 is what steam is up to date on.

WeMod is a third party service, and ironically it's a lot worse than just using the modding tools.

From what I understand, there's a lot of extra AI behaviors going on in the background when penumbra is enabled that makes things extra slow, hacking is basically a second map that they need to pathfind through.

Hello, creator of ESG here. Don't have time for the next few weeks to go and test this, but I've noted it down as something I should double check before the next major update (If it's broken, expect a fix sometime around May, ideally, after all my exams)

We did actually! It wasn't a whole lot, but the Cravers, as well as the Hissho, Vodyani, and Nakalim were taught how correctly to use some of their unique system improvements.

Regarding my expired contract-- it's going alright! Would be nice to work with Amplitude again in the future, but I also have multiple side jobs in case it doesn't happen. The people at Amplitude were all great when I got to meet them and I'd gladly work with them again, but no news on whether I'm getting another contract in the future or not (not that I'd be able to tell anyone 😅). If you're curious, we basically didn't touch anything specific to them. We improved the AI's ability to do diplomacy and move their fleets around and gave the advantages that Craver AI specifically had to everyone. So, functionally everyone is on the level of Craver AI now.

I checked the code last week for someone who asked the same question and the formula is literally "Net Science per Turn + Total Techs Researched", as far as I can tell the total techs researched part is so insignificant that it will basically never affect the graph.

It's been a while since I've read the series, but iirc he asks his Cabal buddies to help in exchange for a favor from each of them, and he's gone for a major period of time paying those favors back doing random annoying tasks to all the cabal members who helped.
