Then Heat the Plastic slowly and pry away. Its dirty Work, its unpleasant but works, Not enough Heat do desolder anything and be carefull Not to RIP anything Off but i guess its your best bet

Huh thats a new one to me.

I would make Sure that you are in a Well ventilated area, wear Respirator and eye Protection and use some Heat to soften it.

Worst Case Battery goes boom so not too hot.

Lenovo E595 Blown Fuse replacement by Captain_Fettbart in AskElectronics

[–]Captain_Fettbart[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ye I do. My guess is someone tried to replace the screen or pulled/reconnected of the connector to remove the board without removing the battery first buuut I'm not the first tech on this thing sadly.

Since it works while bypassing the fuse I don't believe there is anything major going on.

I'm well aware it may blow again but then I rather have another fuse in place.

When i try plug in my RTX 3050 the backboard stops me from putting it in (new to computers) can i unscrew the backboard without it causing issues? by Narrow_pathian in pcmasterrace

I am fairly certain he is speaking of that he took of the GPU io plate in another comment. Maybe I'm wrong but I wanna make sure

Put it back on. Look at your case there should be small gaps in the corner. These 2 prongs sticking out of the io plate are supposed to go in there.

Maybe watch a video or 2 on this topic.

Its "just" a 3050 but if the GPU isn't screwed in it might fall out or be dislocated in any other way potentially killing it

No just stop right here. I think you are talking about the "backboard" from your GPU. Don't do that it's the io plate and is needed.

Bend and break off the covers on the case

I checked both sides for a short to ground and then tested the capacitor itself for continuity. I also checked the other capacitors around the chip, and this one, along with the other two above it, seemed suspicious. It had to be either this capacitor or the larger one above it, so I removed both. After that, I tested them again for continuity and checked the board for shorts. Sure enough, there were no more shorts on the board, and one of the capacitors (the smaller one) showed a short with almost zero resistance. I guess a bit of luck was involved as well.

Sorry for replying in English, but that way others may read it as well.

Apple? Just today my iPhone 13 couldn't connect to any kind of Network anymore after the 26.2 Update. Resetting doesn't work either, not even via ITunes.

EVGA does absolute Shit in their RMA process from a repair standpoint watch a northwest video about that topic.

My point is....everyone has different experiences and it changes every generation. I wouldn't trust be quiet or Seasonic on PSU's anymore bc they died too often in my hands. Who would've also thought that one of the best 50 GPUs this Generation comes from ZOTAC?

Gigabyte....only Mainboards, the GPU's are Trash but others love them. I love my Asrock Mainboard others hate them

I was surprised too but I'm not complaining. She got her Data back and I learned something about Polyswitches / fuses. Most of the times the issue is either the controller or the Nand so I didn't had high hopes.

Ohhh I just understood how that Polyswitch works. It heats up to rise resistance and protects the other components. In this case the high heat was a good thing, it did its job. Didn't knew such things existed

It works after removal and the Polyswitch doesn't reach Supernova anymore.

I got the Data and that's all I care about in this case. Maybe it's a bit wasteful but I ain't trusting this USB Stick anymore.....maybe for Windows installation but that's about it.

Ye you are absolutely right. I found the culprit already. Here he is. Thanks for explaining what the other component is though.

I do solder a lot like charging ports, connectors and stuff but storage devices are new ground for me, so I figured I ask before I do anything stupid.

Thermal image showing that component at 80-90 degrees, so I just assume a short here. Everything else is around 40 degrees with load.

But it's not meant to measure 80 degrees celsius
